Progesterone levels

Do they still drop leading up to BFP ( around the time you are due on)!

Progesterone is a pro-gestation hormone.

So if you're pregnant the levels will continue to rise throughout gestation.

If your period is to come on then progesterone levels will peak and fall.

Progesterone is actually attributed to early pregnancy symptoms and AF symptoms. Which is why you'll hear pregnant and non-pregnant women describe same symptoms before period was due.

The only thing that means you are out is when your period arrives or when you get a negative pregnancy test when your period is late.
