Hey,

So DH and I have been ttc for no.2 for 6 months, no success. I track ovulation using LH and BBT and we have made sure we DTD throughout my fertile window each month. No success. This month we DTD on Sunday night and then DH went away for work, he will be away for a week. I got a positive LH test today (Tuesday). That means there will have been around 60 - 72 hours between the last time we DTD and my ovulation. Is there a chance? Or can I throw in the towel and get pissed over Xmas? (I’m joking, I have a toddler, it would be one glass of Prosecco and bed before 10 for me).

Anyone ever gotten pregnant after only having sex 3 days before ovulation?

Chances are low but still possible!
Definitely have a drink anyway I'd say 😅. Lots of people have had a few drinks before finding out they were pregnant.

Drink and enjoy Christmas unless you know for sure you're pregnant. It won't make any difference.
My DD was conceived 5 days before ovulation if that's any help.

Implantation takes 10-12 days anyways. Even if there is a fertilised egg in there it's not even connected to you at this point anyway! Plus it's around 12 weeks untill a placenta forms and the baby starts being really effected by what's going through your blood system. Alcohol can affected fertility however which is why it is best avoided.
Sperm can live for 3-5 days in the womb so it's not impossible that you could be pregnant I think perhaps just a lower chance ☺️
