Thrush

Hi guys, a bit personal but wondering if anyone else experiences this?
ever since I’ve been with my partner I get thrush at least once a month, I’ve linked it to BD but I’m so worried this is affecting our chances of conceiving. Doctor doesn’t think it does but surely using pessaries/having an unhealthy pH/biome can’t be very sperm friendly.
Anyone else had recurring thrush and managed to conceive?

It's probably a lotion/moisturiser / soap that he's applying to his penis.

Get to avoid putting anything on it, or cleaning just with water before sex, and see if that makes a difference.

When you treat for thrush does he as well? As he could just be giving it back to you.

@jellybe Thanks for your reply. He’s never been symptomatic except once so he did treat. Might try him just treating anyway when I do to see if it makes a difference

@Outliers hes really good and doesn’t use soap down there just water and neither do I, but he does use fragranced soap elsewhere so maybe it could be that

with my ex I had this constantly, bloody nightmare! Men can have it & not show any symptoms…make sure he takes the pill too. The vagina is acidic & not a good environment for sperm anyway, hence why sperm has the liquid with it for them to swim in so I wouldn’t worry about it affecting your chances. I found out that it was actually his sperm that was giving me thrush because when using condoms I didn’t get it. I think it was all the fruit juice he used to drink, his sperm was messing my ph up. I’m with a different partner now & I haven’t had thrush for 2 years…I do take healthy bacteria pills now from h&b also as thrush can actually begin in the gut & having good bacteria can stop it.
I would suggest both taking the oral pill, expensive but worth it as completely rids it. I really feel for you, I was literally crying with it I had it so bad all the time!

@4LeafCloverBaby Thank you so much for this. Really interesting actually as he loves orange juice/drinks loads of it. I think I’m the same as when we use protection I’m fine. I’ve got preseed to help create a better environment but also worried this’ll cause or worsen my thrush, vicious circle. I’m going to get him a pill to take as he’s only ever done the cream. I just use pesssries as fluconazole isn’t safe in TTC/pregnancy.

@TTat25 you’re so welcome! My ex was a bar tender so constantly drinking all different fruit juices every night. I’m very sensitive down there, I used to get thrush a lot, uti’s too, can’t use anything in the bath etc, some lubes irritate me as well but I’ve been using preseed & conceive plus & neither have affected me in a bad way at all thank goodness 😊 honestly if they were going to irritate anyone it would be me! 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️ lol
