periof after coming off the pill how long ?!

hi all

i stopped pill (microgynon) jan23rd to try for n.o 2
had light 2 day withdrawal bleed jan 26th
nothing since!!
on cd(cycle day) 48 - no normal signs of af(period) coming - not moody , and dont have cramps!( which is what i normally get if af(period) on its way!!
have had - wind,forgetfullness,tingly breasts,weeing more often,had cramps a few weeks which felt like af coming but then they went away, and have white plus clear cervical mucus.
tested bfn on cd28,34,37 and 44 due to test this mon morn

Hi Pinkgirl, think it can be anywhere from when your usual pill period would come anywhere up to 3 months for some people. I am on my first cycle off the pill - tho not ttc atm - pill period would be here this weekend so a keeping fingers crossed! Have noticed hardly any CM/discharge since stopping pill and have had cramping in womb region on and off throughout the days so far.
That prob doesn't help much but just thought I'd give you some company. Hope it is your lucky month.

Hi pinkgirl I thought I'd join you too. I cam off the pill 30th Dec 07... and still no sign of AF! Deffo not PG, have tested (...er actaully I've done quite a few tests having convinced myself I might be!)

I have already been to the docs (2 weeks ago) as I was concerned about the ridiculous length of my cycle. She said that since I'm not overweight she wasn't concerned - it just takes some ladies a while before their hormones come back into balance after coming off the pill. She said to be patient and to come back in early summer if still nothing.

Do you mind if i ask how long you were on the pill for?

11 years in total. stopped taking when we were trying for our first then went back on it.

Ah so we are kinda in the same boat .

I'd been on it just over 12 years.

How long did it take for your cycles to come back the first time you came off it?

i waited 3 moths before trying dont really remember didnt keep a diary which i am now this time round.

I came off the pill at the end of july and finally got my period early feb. due another one now but no sign and not pg so who knows when it will arrive!

thing is, got pg with ds within first month of coming off the pill the last time (had been on it 12 yrs). so wasn't really prepared for this - if I'd known it could take this long I would have come off the pill ages ago!! doc did some tests a couple of months ago but nothing wrong apparently although she did seem suprised how long it was taking.

hope your cycle sorts itself out quicker than mine!
