Ok to TTC when ill?

I don’t know if it’s the cold of doom or covid, but i have a virus with raised temperature, body aches etc etc. Coming up on my fertile window. Are there any risks to potential baby in trying while ill (if I can channel my sexy ill Monica vibes enough to persuade my partner it’s ok!)? I feel like the answer is obviously not but I would hate to take an unnecessary risk.

No can’t think of any risks!

My consultant said to me, a developing baby is a very good parasite, so no I don't think so.

Thanks both that’s reassuring!

I was sick at start of November but still conceived. Now 6.5 weeks

Ugh it’s covid and my temp is 39. Not the double line i wanted. Is that still ok? A fever won’t last two weeks I guess but is there any chance it can damage the egg or anything that might lead to problem if i did conceive?

I'd never have sex with a 39 degree fever 😅

It might mean several thousand pounds as i would qualify for maternity this month but not next! But i do think it’s looking unlikely.. hoping the illness delays ovulation. Not sure i’ll be able to persuade my partner unless i get a bit better though, I’m definitely not at my seductive best. I just don’t know whether to even stop thinking about it if i’ll then worry it might mean a leas healthy pregnancy

Yes, if you think you egg quality could be worse now and you'll worry all through the pregnancy, then it's not worth it.

I hope you're ok op xx
