So miserable and confused - am I ovulating?

I get my periods every 28 days but they are always very scant (only 1/2 days of bleeding and even then it’s more spotting than anything. Always brown never pink or red blood).
Day 10-14 of every cycle I get a lot of EWCM and my cervix feels high/ soft. I can’t temp as work night shifts and ovulation tests have never worked for me but I managed to conceive DS regardless.

Ttc isn’t working this time round and I’m wondering if it’s because my weird periods are a sign I’m not ovulating? I’m 2 days “late” this month but so disheartened I can’t even be bothered to test.

It sounds as if you are ovulating if your periods are regular and you're getting EWCM - do you get any other signs? Cramps or increased energy/sex drive? Have you ever spoken to a dr about your scant periods? Definitely do a pg test so you know for sure.

No other signs. I’ve had bloods done which came back fine. I got pregnant with Dc1 in a few months. This time it’s nearly a year and every time it’s a negative it’s heartbreaking. My periods changed after DC1. GP said it must just be my “new normal”. It doesn’t feel normal.
DH wants me to test now I’m late. First time I’ve been late since TTC. But I can’t look at another negative test. I also have no pregnancy symptoms and a lot of PMS symptoms. (Feel crampy and need to wee lots which are my usual pre period symptoms).
My cervix feels high which might be a positive. It’s also really hard though which doesn’t feel like it is.
I just hate the torture of it all.

I understand you don't want the disappointment of another negative test but is it really worse than being in limbo not knowing? Accept that it may be negative and just do it because if you're not pregnant you're going to find out whether that's by a test or your period arriving ❤

@CasaAmarela yes you are almost certainly correct. If no AF today I’ll pick up a test tomorrow when I’m in town. Either way (Af or test) it’s going to be upsetting. Might as well get it over with!

AF started this morning. I have spoken to the GP who has ordered 2 hormone blood tests and a prolactin test (again). I am convinced something is wrong but the bloods aren’t showing anything

Yes, I conceived in the end so was obviously ovulating after all.
