Beware of evaps on easy at home

Now I must say, I'm not totally knocking this brand, but I know how much time, emotional energy and money we all spend on testing so I just want to advise everyone to never take your first "positive" on these tests as gospel.

These pics are the very convincing evaps I've had from these tests in the last year or so. The most recent one was tonight. At 6dpo! Not even possible.

Good luck to everyone and if you enjoy peeing on a stick (I definitely do) then please just brace yourself for quite strong evaps. Obviously a lot with be BFPs! But some arnt

Xx

Good that you're raising awareness of this

@overthinkersanonnymus I've been meaning to post about this for a while now. It seems that some of the easy@home tests that come in the boxes with opks are giving false positives🫤. I've had them every month for the last 3 cycles. I pretty much know straight away that they're indents/evaps as I'm half expecting them but for people that have never experienced them before it is awful.

Like you say I wouldn't rule them all out as I've also had a few stark white ones but I'd definitely take them with a pinch of salt unless it was absolutely blazingly obvious (along with another test) There's definitely a few dodgy batches out there.

I've added my September, October and November tests for reference

@Sez281 I've had one similar to yours this morning

I might order another batch next month and hope for a different batch!

@overthinkersanonnymus They're cruel aren't they! 😣 Did you buy them in same box as opks or separately? I've never had an evap on the orange ones or separate pink ones. I do love the opks and feel that they're always right in relation to my peak day so will continue to buy them but it's important to warn others of potentially dodgy hcg ones 🤨

overthinkersanonnymus · 03/12/2023 12:34

@Sez281 no I bought them separately. I'm not doing OPKs anymore, just trying to stay more relaxed.

She says, testing at 7dpo 😂😂

I actually think they put a couple of dodgy ones in with random boxes so you keep on testing and, ultimately, buying more

Out of interest, do any of you think these could have been early chemicals? Mostly asking as last month I had 3 that over 24 hours at 9/10 dpo progressively got darker, then overnight I had really strong cramping (much stronger than I usually get pre-AF) and started bleeding I left it a few days before testing again (I tested again to ensure not ectopic, as I've had one previously) which was BFN. As I'd never had an evap on any tests before (and I must have taken 100's of tests) before I assumed it was an early chemical.

Sez281 · 03/12/2023 14:29

@Confusedddddddd I definitely think there are cases for a CP or failed implantation with some of them but I know for a fact that last month was an evap for me as I had a blood test the same day as the line was there, I asked them to test for hcg too and it came back negative. That's not to say that yours wasn't. Fingers crossed next cycle 🤞 x
