BBT and OPK not matching

Hi ladies,
This is my first month using BBT. We've being TCC for over a year now and I swore I wouldn't add BBT as another thing to obsess over but here we are 🙈😂 So my Premom opks peaked 2 days ago on CD14 which in theory means that ovulation day would be yesterday CD15. When I woke up yesterday morning my temp spiked to suggest that ovulation actually happened on peak opk day and I'd already ovulated. Is this even possible? I always thought I had 24-36 hours after peak before ovulation. The app still has me ovulating yesterday but am I right in thinking I'm actually 2DPO now and not 1? I know a day isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things but I have a short LP so could make a difference, it might also help going forward to ensure that we're covering all the bases

LH signals ovulation can occur anytime between in the next 24-36 hours. It's an indicative time as opposed an exact science.

So long as you DTD every other day, then you've done your part.

I'm not really big on the BBT personally as seems more like a flawed metric, but seems to work for a lot of women.

@Outliers I understand that LH peak indicates ovulation 24-36 hours later but that's why I'm confused as it appears from my temp spike that I ovulated the day before. I think we covered it by dtd on days 12, 13 and 15 but it now appears by temp that cd15 should be outside the window and I should be 2DPO instead of 1

That's assuming BBT is a flawless metric - it's not (when you dig into it).
