Clear blue false positive?

Please help, my period is 5 days late (normally clockwork). I did a cheap pink dye dip test when it was 2 days late and it was negative. This morning (5 days late) I did a clear blue early response test and it came up with a blue line within the time frame and it is definitely bright blue not grey (pictured). However a couple of hours later I did another cheap pink dye dip test to confirm and it was negative. I don't think it is an evap because it came up within a couple of minutes and is definitely very blue, not grey. But I worry it could be a faulty/invalid test because the line is so thin? I know I can ovulate later because I've had late positive ovulation tests in the past and also when I was pregnant with my son I didn't get a BFP until my period was 5 days late and even then it was only very faint until my period was 7 days late...

Is there still a chance this month? Do I keep testing with pink dye tests? Or am I likely out this month?

I think, as the whole left side of the strip in the window is tinged with blue, it might be a dye run that’s travelled up the indent rather than a positive I’m afraid.

As it isn’t a full line it should be classed as a negative. Good luck!

@TootOnTheBends I think that's a shadow in the picture because the left side wasn't blue in person, it was all completely white apart from the blue line. But I'm still thinking it might be faulty or something because of the thickness of the line. Still no period 7 days late now though, so I don't know what's going on!
