First Response Test Shortage?

Currently TTC baby no 2. I usually buy my tests on Amazon for convenience and discretion, but haven’t been able to get FRER tests in a while. They don’t even come up in a search, or if I go into my previous orders it says they are unavailable. Also noticed in Tesco their slot on the shelf was empty.

I have just been using other brands but FRER would have been my preference as red dye tests I find are easier to read and like that you can test early.

Has anyone else TTC had difficulty finding FRER tests?! I’m in N Ireland so possibly a Brexit/ Irish Sea border restrictions issue 🙄

Oh, never mind, just managed to order some on Amazon there now, although I swear a few days ago they weren’t available to order lol.

@MaybeBaby2024 yes I am also ni and there was none, the mainland was the same though, noticed last night they were back for prime delivery but also twice the price as last time I ordered.

If it happens again and you need decent tests, I have heard alot of people say Boots first response type tests are very good (and cheaper)

@Ladyinpink1 thanks! I just saw in another TTC thread that the FRER have been discontinued in the uk?! At least can still get some on Amazon.

In my experience, Boots early were more sensitive than a frer so are a good substitute!

I was looking for some a few months ago in ROI and they were impossible to find. Nobody was stocking them anymore! But I’ve been reading online and MN that they’ve been giving bad evaps lately. Boots pink test is my new go to and doesn’t have evaps.

Just to add a little caveat to this. I'm in ROI and unfortunately have had a couple of evaps/ indents on boots early tests . I would still recommend them though as it has only happened twice and I general I find them the best
