Confused around ovulation after peak result

Hi there

i am using the clear blue 4 day ovulation tests which are meant to show high (flashing smiley) and peak (solid smiley face). The past few times I have tested I have gone straight from low to peak. I got peak result on Tuesday (day 12) which means I should have ovulated on Wednesday however today as of thurs my basal temperature has not gone up to show I’ve ovulated - can ovulation be delayed a few days even after getting peak result ?

thanks

Sometimes I get a low in the morning & then flashing in afternoon so you may a very quick LH surge & have just missed the beginning of the surge (flashing smiley) because you tested the next day when it had already risen to peak. After peak it’s 12-36 hours for ovulation to happen & then your bBT should rise the day after ovulation. So for example if you peaked Tuesday morning, the latest really you could have ovulated is Wednesday night so then your temp should rise today if not maybe tomorrow as your ovulation may have been late in the day yesterday.

Normally the peak means you are most fertile that day and the next day but you never know - might as well try on Friday!

I have also successfully gotten pregnant after a few cycles with only ever going straight from low to peak so think it’s the peak that’s most important :)
