hi guys really hoping you will help me through this time rn
ive been dealing with gallstones for 5 years,
when I got pregnant with my daughter, all issues went away, but came back 9 months postpartum so I’ve been on the waiting list for a surgery. I was given a date, and then it was cancelled and I was given another date and it’s cancelled again and pushed towards end of January now.
the problem is I’ve been holding of trying for another baby because of this surgery but I’m heartbroken because I’ve been wanting to try for ages my little girl is coming up to 2 and I ideally wanted a 2 year age gap, and I’m just gutted and wondering whether I should just go ahead and ttc anyway

This is a tough situation to be in so I really feel for you @Cocobellax. I was diagnosed with gallstones 5 weeks after giving birth and I’m led to believe the surge in oestrogen during pregnancy was the cause / antagonised existing gallstones that previously caused me no bother. I had my gallbladder removed about 4 months after diagnosis as it deteriorated very quickly and the flare ups were constant and so debilitating that I couldn’t look after my newborn. Personally I would wait until January and see if the surgery goes ahead. I know you said you wanted a 2 year age gap and that time
is coming but even if you got pregnant this month it would be bigger gap than 2 years so what’s a couple more months (imo). I have read that gallbladder surgery cannot be done during pregnancy unless it’s an emergency and you don’t want it to get to that point. Although it sounds like your symptoms went away during pregnancy so you could be completely different. It’s a personal decision that only you can make. 💐
