Hey all, I have been TTC for 10 months, and no sign of any pregnancy at all. I just wondered if anyone could share stories on you TTC and actually falling pregnant? I feel like most people say they fell when they gave up and stopped trying (which I have found is much easier said than done) but it would be good to hear if you were actively trying and fell pregnant

It took me over 2 years to get pregnant. It was for me, when I stopped trying. I didn’t want to but it was when the first covid vaccine was going around. I was informed to not try for 2 months after the vaccine. Just when I was ready to try again, I got my booster so had to wait another 2 months. I honestly think the forced break helped. Everyone told me to stop trying as it would help but as you say, it’s easier said than done and it can be really off putting to be told to stop and see what happens.

In the months that I couldn’t try, I focussed on my physical and mental health. I spent more time making sure I was healthy but also just having fun. When I look back, I was probably far more relaxed and happier when I was told to stop. It felt like a pressure was taken off of me. I always felt sort of guilty trying to stop before, as if I was giving up.
When it was time to start trying again, my dh and I spoke about looking at other paths to have children and the possibility of not having children at all. We admitted we felt happier not trying.
Out of the blue, the next month I was pregnant and it was a massive surprise. I was over the moon but also felt slightly annoyed that I spent so long worrying, crying and getting stressed with it all.

I’m now pregnant with my second and was actively trying when I fell pregnant. I was over the moon as I started testing early and had loads of negative tests until 1 day before my period was due.

Seems so strange to have 2 very different pregnancy stories.

I tried to get pregnant for over 10 years.

All my tests were normal and I was diagnosed with "unexplained infertility".

When I did fall pregnant in March the only thing I did different was use a menstrual cup and put my legs up in the air after BD.

Best of luck!
