Am I ovulating?

Hi all, this is my first time properly tracking my ovulation with tests and I’ve been writing it all down (and getting a bit obsessed already!!). I have a pretty consistent cycle of 26-28 days and have been off birth control for 2 years (but not actively tracking and trying til now). Wondering what you make of the below? Does this mean I’m ovulating now/today and at my peak?? does this actually mean I’ve potentially missed my chance to conceive this month if I am actively ovulating now? I know the general advice is to dtd as much as possible around the fertile window, but I’m trying to time it as my husband works nights and that is making it trickier. Thoughts on the below?

Am I ovulating?

Your “peak” or “surge” (which is what shows up on those tests) comes 24-48 hours ahead of ovulation. So assuming that day 14 is today, you will ovulate in the next day or two. So no, definitely not missed your window! Do you have a chance to DTD today or tomorrow? Still worth a try on Saturday as well because the egg can live for 24 hours once released.

Hi OP, that bottom test does look pretty dark but I'm not sure I'd say it is as dark or darker than test line? I'd do another few as it's generally advised to test for a day or so after your peak too. You may find using the app 'Premom' to log your tests useful too :)

Mine looks like that before ovulation. If you keep testing over the next few days you should get a line dark or darker than the control line.
they are all negative. Good luck x

My lines never went very dark but I had no problem getting pregnant.
I’d say ovulation is imminent.

Hi there

Just wanted to ask if you are aware of the pre mom app? It's free to use, you can track all the ovulation sticks - you take a pic of them using the app and it automatically reads them and plots the results on a chart for you - you can then see your peak, fertile days, you can mark when you had sex, track your cycle and symptoms.

Hey all! Thanks for your responses - I downloaded the app recommendation and love it 😊 actually recorded a higher peak and much darker line later in the day which I’m pleased about (I really wanted to try and absolutely pin point my peak, more out of sheer curiosity than anything!).
