Ebay pg tests - can they really get it right that early?

Hi - got a 'mixed bundle' of ov and pg tests this month as have been trying ttc number 3 for a few mnths without success and thought this would be a good way to pass time if nothing else... Anyway, despite feeling more hormonal than past months (in a good way), and having mucus and cervix indicators around day 11 or 12 I never detected a surge - mostly tested round lunchtime however, so may not have been the best - I'm a bit of an opk novice! Anyway, I saw on my preg test sticks that they are accurate a few days after conception and tried one out. BFN of course. I'm only on CD 19, but the Ebay info says it should b right. Has anyone ever actually had a BFP this early on? Know the critical days have passed as cervix is back down and interest in BD low again. It's just so disappointing...

I don't thik they would be accurate a few days after conception, more like a few days after your period is due or maybe a couple of days before.

I have been using cheap ebay ones for the last 7 days and have not detected a surge at all.

This is what they say on their bumpf:

The average woman could, therefore, show a faint line only 1 day after conception but if the level started at 1miU then it would be 3 days after conception that the line would show. Accordingly it can vary from person to person and the actual day of conception in the cycle can vary slightly depending on the day the egg was released from the ovary and the day it was fertilised. Normally we would say that these tests would be certain to show a positive result 6 days after conception. On the 7th day the line would be much darker and so on. Having said that we have had women say they showed positive after only 2 days!!

Harumph

I think they are bigging themselves up to be honest, in an attempt to get more sales!

bloomin' hope so... it seemed a bit random to me, surely the egg / sperm combination is just floating about until it implants? THEN I could understand that your hormones might go a bit wild. Just trying to find out if early discovery isa bit of a myth!

Right, might have found an answer to my own question . Am going to post it for the sake of anyone else who is being as obsessive as me. Have looked up similarly sensitive tests and apparently they can get a positive between 8 and 10 days after conception, but you HAVE to have a full night's wee to test it (I'd been up at 3am...). And they say pregnancy drives you nuts - ttc is much worse!

I had a BFP at 21 days - it was about 10 days after conception, I reckon. It was an ebay test.

I've had BFPs at 11dpo with my pregnancies (beta HCG levels were 40 & 33 at that point), if I'd tested at 10dpo they way well have been positive.
