Potential fertility problem or just bad timing?

Last year, before I split from my ex, we were TTC for 10 cycles.

He works away a lot so by pure coincidence, every cycle, we only managed to try 4 days before ovulation. And I never got pregnant.

Now it's been playing on my mind. Should I start being worried that there may be a fertility issue at play as we tried for 10 cycles and nothing happened. Or is it most likely down to the fact that we just didn't try close enough to ovulation?

I hear of lots of people being pregnant from sex 4 or 5 days before ovulation though.

Certainly a timing issue.

There are plenty videos and articles on best times to try so have a browse.

Doctor say to avoid ovulation tests and just have sex every other day throughout your cycle
why just four days though I would’ve done it up until ovulation and the day after
I was trying for a long time I had a ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage and I was told that I had a blocked left fallopian tube and would need IVF. I can still get pregnant from my right tube though , but it just wasn’t happenin
I am absolutely heartbroken as at 44 I feel like I’ve lost my chance so for y it may be worth going to see the doctor to see if there is a medical reason. I had a HSG, which is where they put fluid into your fallopian tubes to see if anything comes out the other end and this way they can unblock the tube if there is any debris in there or let you know if it’s completely blocked.
also make sure your vitamin levels are peak such as iron zinc folic acid ect , you are a healthy weight 18, and have a healthy diet. I found exercise helped my ovulation. I never used to get much of that clear mucus when ovulating, unless I did some exercise. I’m not sure how the two are related. However it’s good to be active whilst trying.

@futuremama201 could also be a problem with your ex.... not you! Maybe don't worry unless you're into your 30s in which case I'd probably go and have some blood tests... equally, unless you have another partner and know a baby could be on the horizon, will you just worry yourself? Good luck!

I'm 32 so not exactly a spring chicken anymore!

I do track my cycles religiously. Regular cycles, LH surge, temp rise which hopefully means I ovulated.

Currently single so not trying anymore but just suddenly had a panic that it never happened when I WAS trying so maybe there is an issue that will prevent me from pregnancy in the future. Feel like I am getting too old now!
