Clomid and Cyclogest

Hello all,

I have been using mumsnet and reading threads for a while now, and thought it is about time I do my own post!

I have been TTC since a miscarriage for basically 3 years, there has been quite a few set backs during that time so it hasn't been trying consistently. We have had all of our tests done and both myself and my Husband are okay, it is 'unexplained infertility' we are experiencing.

I am currently losing weight to get down to the right BMI for IVF, but in the interim my specialist has given me clomid and cyclogest to try.

I had my mid cycle scan on CD12, and I had two big folicles, and the specialist told me I needed to start ovulation testing straight away because they looked 'very ready'. He was right, and the day after on CD13 I got my positive OPK.

We BDd CD12, 13 & 14, and then started my cyclogest CD15.

Basically I am looking for any positive stories from people who have used Clomid and Cyclogest, or even just Clomid on it's own. And if so, which cycle using it did you conceive?

Sorry for the long post!!! And thanks for listening xx

Good luck!!! I conceived on my first round of Clomid 6 years ago (I was 32). We only DTD once that cycle (the day I got my surge) so we got very, very lucky.

We are TTC number 2 currently and I’m in my final cycle of Clomid and Cyclogest - got my surge this morning so BD tonight, tomorrow and Friday if we can muster up the enthusiasm. This is the last chance for us - if no baby this month, then no baby.

Will cross everything for you.

Cant help on clomid success im afraid, but if you are not successful ask about switching onto letrozole. I conceived dd1 with it - my endocrinologist told me it is more effective than clomid if your bmi is higher. It works in the same way. Good luck! Hopefully my advice wont be needed and you'll have success this cycle!

I agree with @NoIncomeTaxNoVAT if you don't get any luck with clomid after 3 or 4 cycles ask to try letrozole instead. But it sounds like you are responding really well to the clomid so fingers crossed this is your month!

Thank you everyone for yourn replies!

@DoloresOnTheDottedLine I have everything crossed for you, I hope we can both be celebrating together at the end of the month 🙏

@NoIncomeTaxNoVAT Thank you for the tip, I will definitley ask my specialist about this if it doesn't work this cycle, especially if it works better for a higher BMI!

@LavenderSweetPea Thanks so much for positive response too, I really hope it has worked this month!
