Hi,

I had my first bloods done at 4 weeks and 5 days the level was 1,110.

im now worried this was way to high? I had brown discharge at the weekend so I’m worried something is wrong. Having another blood test done today at week 6+1

anyone else had high hcg so early and it turn ok?

Congratulation. I had extremely high hcg but it gave me hyperemesis. It calmed down but lasted throughout the pregnancy. I like you was also worried but DC is a happy and healthy child. I once had a pregnancy with very low hcg and turned out to be an ectopic so just concentrate on it being a good thing.

Normal HCG levels for 5 weeks is 200 to 8000. So for 4 weeks and 5 days it should be between about 100 and 4000 so 1000 is not high at all - who told you it was. It's a fairly normal number.

And even if it was there's nothing bad that it can be that means that there's a problem with the baby if it's high - only a higher chance of multiples but there's not necessarily a link

It was actually the GP who told me it’s raised for someone who’s 4 weeks and 5 days and now because of the discharge their worried about it but I wish they would of told me that 2 weeks ago instead of waiting for something to happen. Only time will tell, just done another blood test x

Maybe they thought you were just 4 weeks (as opposed to nearly 5) at which point it would have been on the higher end.

Brown discharge is very common in early pregnancy. Brown is fine and don't stress. I definitely had some throughout my pregnancy. if it turns red or gets bad then worry and call the early pregnancy unit.

Thank you, just waiting for the bloods to come back now and hopefully get an early scan to put the mind at ease x
