6 months TTC and feeling sad :(

Hello,

Just had AF arrive an hour ago and feeling super deflated. Been TTC for 6 months now and was really hopeful this cycle, and right up until an hour ago despite the bfn's I was still hopeful 😔

Just feel like I'm seeing everyone around me announcing pregnancies and getting pregnant so easily and quickly, whilst I'm doing everything I can and still failing.

I just needed to share how I'm feeling as I feel so alone - anyone able to share some positive stories and pick me ups? TIA

I know how you feel, this is my first flow after a CP. Husbands niece is pregnant- I would have been 2 weeks behind her and today went to see his cousins newborn. It sucks but I have hope I will get there too! This cycle has been emotional buy its ok, our time will come.

It’s hard but do remember a year is normal, even for couples with no issues. Focus on what you ca control and make some plans with DH. Don’t stop your life waiting for it

Thank you, I think I'm worried as I had Chlamydia twice when I was a lot younger (silly me I know) but did catch it twice both times quite early and treated with no further issues. I'm scared it's left some damage. I just wish I could see inside my own body sometimes! I can't even describe how much I ache to see them two lines and feel every month is not going to happen for me... so hard to not let it take over your every thought when you want it so much

I got pregnant pretty quick with my first 2 children but third child took 9 months, I felt like it was never going to happen then soon as I stopped tracking ovulation and was taking seven seas trying for a baby vitamins I got pregnant .

Stay positive , it will happen when you least expect it ! Carry on with life as normal but it’s ok to feel the way you do ! x

I know exactly how you feel, to the point I actively avoid my Instagram as it is so sad for us. We’ve been trying since February, had surgical management of a miscarriage in August… Currently in 2WW but feeling deflated…No positive story from me but know you are not alone in this journey x

I've never had a positive test, never had a MM or a CP. Not that I would want that but at least I would know my body could actually get pregnant... it's just so frustrating when people seem to be announcing pregnancies here there and everywhere after trying for what seems like a few months

Case in point "what seems like a few months". You don't know that's true, or if they've had losses. I've found staying off social media helps me a lot, and finding other interests that occupy my mind.

It was around six months when we were trying for our first that I guessed something was wrong (and was ultimately proven right) as my husband had had a testicle injury in the past. So for us six months is when we started investigations.

With your history I think it would be fair at this point to go to your GP with your concerns and see if they suggest any tests.

As other people have said though, even a year is considered normal for perfectly fertile couples.

For a happy end to this post, we did get pregnant finally after 15 months, a HyCoSy and the threat of IVF (found out the day before the round was due to start).

emmatcc1 · 20/11/2023 16:18

6 months is really not that long, wait until a year has passed.

Bobbieiris · 23/11/2023 15:13

Aw I know exactly how you feel, I’ve been trying for 6 months too and such bad luck….boyfriend and I both got Covid, then boyfriend got a stomach bug the next cycle and I’ve had so much work/family stress that my cycle went all over the place….just trying to relax and not get down too much. I know what you mean with feeling like everyone around you is getting pregnant! It feels so disappointing and heartbreaking every month doesn’t it. I just try to think it’s normal to take a year and I’m also trying to stay off social media and to keep busy and stop obsessing over tracking. Fingers crossed for you xxx

Hi, I don't know if this is for me but but I have my operation next Monday to remove the polyps, so hopefully I will conceive once they've buggered off

If you haven’t already I’d get some tests - I did a hertility test and it’s flagged some things I’m getting investigated and has made me feel much better. My acupuncturist said most people vary way beyond one year so hang in there - it is really time consuming and rubbish!

This is quite an old post - I have since conceived but sadly had a chemical last month. I had a polyp removed in March and a HyCoSy and everything is all good 😊 x
