Blocked tubes

Hi,

I had a lap and dye test done last week. It was to check for endo and any other issues. The results came back that I don't have endo or PID, however, there was one sentence in my notes that states 'no tubal patency demonstrated, cause? If wishes to conceive refer.'

After my surgery, I was told I have no endo and everything is fine. I was told whilst I came around but reacted badly to the anesthetic was almost kept in over night. I wasn't able to speak to anyone and only found out about my tubes by reading my discharge notes the next day. I am devastated. I cant stop crying and quite frankly feel suicidal. I have no idea what the blocks are or where, or what the next steps are. The notes are vague and no follow up has been arranged.

Can anyone help me please? Has this happened to you and what was the outcome? I am really struggling and rather upset that I've kept in the dark and left with no answers or plans going forward. It's been 2 years already and all I've ever wanted is a family..

Who ordered the investigation? They will need time to read the results before arranging a follow up to be organised, these things are never as quick as you imagine sadly. They have put about needing to be referred if wishing to conceive, you could speak to the GP and request a referral from them rather than waiting for a follow up maybe? So sorry, I know how hard it is to be longing for a baby and have to go down the fertility treatment route. Flowers

@Ridingthewaves19 I’m sorry you’re going through this. I think you need to talk to a professional. There are so many things they can do these days medically. Just did a little read online & they can drill your tubes out so there is definitely hope. Try to keep positive 🍀

Hi,

Thank you for your response. It was actioned by gynae. Its now been over a month and still no plan of action or summary. I did chase the gynae secretary and she stated that she will get the consultant to speak with the sub fertility specialist. Its all a bit of a mess really and I've been kept in the dark.

I have had an appt with sub fertility and everything sort of hinges on the detailed results of the lap. The consultant can't do anything atm as has no further information. They have suggested IVF and asked me to repeat some bloodwork. It's all really frustrating. I dont really understand how my tubes are blocked as I have no endo or PID caused from infections. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

@Ridingthewaves19 go back and ring your gp and explain the situation to them and tell them your notes said to refer. Your gp can send your referral off to fertility clinic . That's what I had to do. Gynae kept messing me around and wasted 1 year of my time . I rang my gp and told them I wasn't happy with gynae .
I needed ivf and I'm very blessed our first round worked and I'm currently 11 weeks 🤞

Thanks for the response. I did call my GP and they had no further notes from gynae. They had already referred me to fertility as before my procedure gynae chased them stating it was unacceptable that they had delayed/sat on my referral due to my symptoms.

I am currently under fertility specialist and have had an appt already. They need information from gynae so they can determine best course of action. I have a follow up appt and they should have the details to inform me. All a bit of a shitshow but hopeful I and them will have answers from gynae as I requested they liase with each other.
