migraine - is it a sign

I had a weird migraine last night - funny eyes and headache, aversion to lights. Only about the 4th time in my life I've had one - is this ever a sign of being pregnant?

It's hard to say. A common cause of migraine is hormonal changes - I suffer from regular migraines and often get an attack when AF due. Are you getting any other symptoms?

I get migraines which are quite mild but ver frequent. But, never got one as a sign of pregnancy. Although mine don't tend to be triggered by hormones.

I think the most reliable sign is a + on a pee stick. Have you tested? Are you late?

not late - think I ovulated on monday so it would be as it implanted I guess. just odd because migraine so rare for me.

As micrathena said - there are more reliable signs of pregnancy and I tended not to get migraine during pregnancy - which was a relief! Having said that I know of others whose attacks got worse when they were pregnant.

I'd wait until you were definitely late and then test.

Hi- I used to get migraines alot until I went on the pill. When I came off I got them again- when I ovulated.

My best friend never got migraines, but started to get them when she was pregnant.

They are sometimes caused by hormone changes, but as you can see it depends from person to person.

I used to get migraines when i was younger, handt for about 15 years, then got a horrific migraine when I was about 8 weeks pregnant, so I think it was def the pregnancy hormones that caused it for me!

Funny this post should come up!
I think I ovualted on Monday, and yesterday afternoon I had such a terrible migraine that last for a few hours.

Ive also had a cramp in my lower abdomen since last Saturday. At first I thought it was ovulation pains, but surely they wouldnt have lasted this long? They were worst on Sunday evening, but have continued since. Now its like a dull ache.

What could it be?

well it CERTAINLY was for me!

I had a migraine every day for five days then on the fifth found out I was pregnant.

Tis the hormones...

Was for me too. Both times I got pg I got a stinking migraine at implanation time.

Hi Chinchi, My AF came bang on time so wasn't a sign for me in the end. Was convinced it was goign to be though.
