Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advise please.
me and my husband are trying to start a family, I came off the pill at the end of may this year, my periods came back, but very light and only last 3 days, I was recommended to use pregnacare conception as it’s meant to help… well it hasn’t unfortunately it’s messed my cycle, once I realised it, with all the bad reviews I’ve seen was I stopped taking it, and binned it.
my period came 3 weeks late, so I was hoping that this month it would be back to normal… nope I’m already a week late, with a negative pregnancy test, so gutted.
Has anyone tried pregnacare and if so how long did it take to get your cycles back.
many help would be helpful, I’m so upset and frustrated 😡😭

Strange because it helped me

I take Pregnacare and haven't had any issues with my cycle (or not so far, I had a miscarriage in September so am on my first normal cycle since then). It is a known effect of Pregnacare though - it even says it on the box. If you've been having very light periods before that, and now your cycle has become irregular, have you thought about speaking to your GP?

I’m sorry to hear that 😔
yup contacted my doctors they said because of being on the pill my periods maybe light for a while, which was fine, but I did contact the doctors again when I had a late period for 3 weeks, they’ve done test but nothing so far

I was on the pill for years, my periods came back irregular for 2/3 months then settled back . The GP won’t do anything until you’ve been trying for a year without success . Or so mine told me . I was just tracking my cycle and luteal phase turned out mine was short at 8 days

I got pregnant on my 9th cycle after using Seven Seas Trying for a baby !

I didn’t know it could mess up your cycle. I took pregnacare while trying to conceive and got pregnant in two months so always assumed it had helped. I did have a bit of a weird cycle the first month of taking it where I ovulated really early and then didn’t get another period for longer than usual, despite not being pregnant that month. However my next cycle was normal even though I was still taking it and that was the cycle when I conceived my son. Sorry I don’t really have any helpful advice just thought I’d share my experience. It surely can’t stay in your system forever. If you’ve stopped taking it and it was that which messed up your cycles they should sort themselves out soon.

When I came off the pill my periods were all over the place. The gp said they wouldn’t do anything until I hit 6 months and even then they’d just monitor (based on my age) and reevaluate once it hit a year. They said it’s a positive it’s arriving even if it’s a very short period.

I took pregnacare and it did nothing for me but spoke with a friend whose a midwife and she just encouraged me to take folic acid and vitamin b.
My sil took pregnacare and her normal periods extended to nearly a 60 day cycle. After speaking with a gp, she was encouraged to stop taking it as the gp said there’s no known effect from taking it and they had a lot of women going in with strange side effects.

I had similar but when I took vitamin B6. I was charting at the same time and could see my ovulation was delayed. I started taking the vitamins only after I ovulated (I was trying to lengthen my luteal phase) and ovulation returned to normal.

Pregnacare contains vitamin B6 so maybe it's the same thing? If so, I'm sure your cycles will go back to normal once the vitamin levels go back to normal.

I too have heard a lot about strange effects of Pregnacare, so I think you have done the right thing by binning it!

Surely it's much more likely to be coming off the pill that's messed up your cycle, rather than taking vitamins? Many women have a disturbed cycle for a few months after coming off hormonal contraception.
