Easy @ home tests - false positives/evap lines?

Hi lovely people. Hoping you can all help me. I’m either 10/11 dpo and did a test this morning which looked totally blank/white negative so I put it in the bin. Later on I’ve looked at it and can see a faint line (top test) and have just tested again and can see another albeit very faint line (bottom test). At least I think I can or might be going mad!

However when I google it some forums say evap lines can be very common on these types of tests so I don’t want to get my hopes up too much. What are your experiences of false positives/evap lines on these cheap tests? Thanks so much all xxxx

I don't have any experience with the evap lines or anything however I have just found out I'm pregnant and mine looked exactly like this to start with and also didn't come up straight away. It was after maybe an hour when I went to throw it away and it was there. I would give it a few days and test again?

Thanks so much for your response, congratulations! Can I ask how many dpo you started to see stronger lines?

Retest tomorrow. I would discard the first one. But sounds promising a line came yo straight away on the second one. Hope this is your bfp x

Thanks so much, thinking of buying a different brand of test tomorrow. I guess clearblue will be more reliable? Just scared I’m giving myself false hope!

I've never had evaps with Easy@Home. I've only had lines when I've been pregnant. They do take about 10 mins to develop though as it seems like they don't use much dye.

I’ve been ttc for 9 months and have used these tests every month - have never ever had an evap line. When negative there’s defo nothing there!
I’ve got pregnant twice (1 chemical and now pregnant 5 weeks) and both times they picked up the pregnancy really early with a faint line which takes a while to show - very similar to what you have here.

The important thing is that if you test every couple of days the line gets darker every time, which shows the pregnancy is developing. When I had the chemical pregnancy it stayed faint for a few days and then faded. But with my current pregnancy there’s been steady progression of the line.

good luck!!

They’re positive

Any update OP? I am in a similar situation

MoonIightDreamer · 13/11/2023 16:32

I would discard the tests.
Evaporation lines do develop when left which is why you should discard any results after 15mins.
I've had this several times with EAH tests.
I'd test tomorrow , or best if you leave it a few days as its not recommended to test before 14days anyway. Read your results within 15mins and you'll know if its accurate or not

I got a positive clearblue test yesterday ❤️. Im going to keep testing using the easy@home ones to hopefully see them getting darker as a lovely precious reply suggested. Hope you have the same xxxx
