Positive ovulation test?

Hi all, I'm cd7 and thought I'd take an ovulation test, despite this not being due for another 6 days. I was surprised to see a fairly strong second line come up as I'm so far from ovulation day. Do you think there's any chance I could in fact be pregnant? Or would it be a lot stronger? I haven't got any pregnancy tests at home so can't check at the moment. And I thought I'd had my period, although it was very dark in colour and light bleeding, however I'm also taking progesterone so thought that might be the reason it was different than normal.

What do you think?!

Ovulation can happen at any point in your cycle, even if you normally ovulate later on, it can change. Also, I used to get these and think I was going to ovulate earlier on and then the line was faint over the following few days. If you think you might be pregnant, then wait to take a test when you can.

Hey! Similar issues going with me, really not sure what is going on, I've been doing ovulation tests and some are faint but most are almost as dark as the test line! I'm just as lost right now 😞

Your ovulation test does not look postive but looks like its starting to progress

When you say ovulation is not due for another 6 days- is that because you know you ovulate around the same day like clockwork or has some app said that? Because if you tend to ovulate say between day 12-16 which is pretty normal, you're on CD 7 now, it's possible to get your peak day around CD 11 so that line is not unusual for a peak in a few days time.

I randomly get darkish lines like that when I'm testing but then they get fainter again before actually getting a positive. I have to test for many days in my cycle as I ovulate anywhere between day 20-31. Not sure why it is but it probably doesnt mean anything. I'd just continue to test for the coming days until you get your positive.

Thanks all. My ovulation is usually like clockwork but now that I'm taking progesterone, I think it's changed my cycle a bit. I'll continue until I get my peak!

This is mine from today and I just finished my periods yesterday (which lasted 8 days). Should there even be a second line at this point? I am so new to this ovulation testing.

@Rose38 yes its completely normal. LH is always present in the body. It's just then during ovulation that the levels rise higher
