Cramping but positive test

Hiya! We're currently TTC for our second child, I had the coil removed the last day of my last period, wasn't really expecting to even ovulate for a few cycles so was a bit surprised when my pre period symptoms never showed up. Took one of those cheap tests (two days before I was due just to check, negative) and I realised after taking it it's one that only show up a day after missed period. Took it again the day after I was due as period never came and it was a faint positive. Got a digital one and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant. I did take both these tests in the afternoon, not the first wee.
I would just accept this as a positive but ever since the day before I was due I've had mild cramping, not like nausea causing cramps I've had before, but almost like a tightness and dull constant tension/cramp. Boobs are sore, had a couple of bouts of nausea last week as well.

Did anyone have these sorts of cramping feelings in the first few weeks or could this be a chemical?

It probably doesn't help that when we had our first I got pregnant as soon as I stopped the pill but it was a chemical, so I think that's just made me worry it's happening again.

If anything I’d say cramping (without bleeding) is a really good sign! I remember that with my first pregnancy. I put it down to the uterus growing and all sorts of changes going on in there. Sounds good to me!

Thank you @Oxalis00 that's reassuring! The cramps have definitely subsided since Sunday and I wonder if I would even notice it if I wasn't so hyper aware haha.
I think I'll see how the week goes and do another test next week and see if it's a darker line or showing more weeks. Think it was all just a bit of a surprise, I hadn't even started conception pre natals yet!

Just to update if anyone finds this thread and has similar concerns, it was a positive and I'm currently 19 weeks 😀

I dunno if you’re still on here but I wondered when your cramps were?

I’ve had pregnancy symptoms for two weeks and AF due tomorrow or Saturday - but last night and today my cramps are more period like than any flutters.

im trying to hold on to hope that maybe they feel the same

@CSSL7 I think from memory the cramps were just before my period was due, a few days before I would say and then up until a week or two after!
The dew days before I was due my period (the one that never showed up) it was proper period pain like cramps!
