Ovulation pain/brown spotting

Hi all,
I've never felt ovulation pains before so can only guess that is what I'm currently feeling, strong positive ovulation test 2 days ago, cramp/ache feeling in right ovary and top of my leg since, and a small amount of brown spotting last night. BFN on cheapy test strips.
Anyone else experienced this and does it sound normal? Worried about going to doctors as I'm currently in the middle of being referred for IVF and don't want anything to disrupt that process
TIA x

Also to add, my cycles are long but this month I seemed to be ovulating on time. Also never had such a strong ovulation test line!

It's impossible to say with any degree of certainty. Can't say I've experienced this myself.

But I would just DTD today and tomorrow in the off chance you conceive. Hope it works out

@Outliers thank you x

Hi @waitingforourmiracle if it’s any help I regularly get ovulation pain (confirmed with BBT / OPKs) which is like a dull ache/heaviness all over and cramps/twinges on one side. I also sometimes get very very light spotting. Asked the doctor and they said it’s normal so probably nothing to worry about although if the bleeding continues I would talk to someone.

@Goldendoodlelover thank you for your reply, that's made me feel reassured! Nothing today and it was only a small amount last night! It's just strange I've never even had as much as a twinge while ovulating then this month it's really obvious!

@waitingforourmiracle Yeah I do find it varies from month to month - some months it’s super obvious and quite intense and other months I barely notice it at all! Am currently 11 months ttc and have been having acupuncture for the last couple of months and it’s definitely become more noticeable since I started having that, so who knows if there is a link!

@Goldendoodlelover good luck in your journey! Have you been in touch with your doctors yet to get the ball rolling with them? Only reason I ask is I know how long wait times are through the NHS!

@waitingforourmiracle I had some tests back in August - baseline bloods, a semen analysis and an ultrasound - and all came back normal. I didn’t want to wait until 12 months and it’s hard enough to get an appointment with my GP and the waiting lists are months so I ended up just paying for it privately. I could go to the GP next month but I just don’t want to hang around waiting; I think the next step is a HSG/Hycosy to check tubes so just psyching myself up for that!

@Goldendoodlelover I don't blame you with the waiting times it's the worst! We are 2 years in and just at the stage of being referred for IVF, which is a headache it's self with no one seeming to know the process of how to do the referral. So frustrating it's out of my control!
I never had to have Hycosy due to male factor infertility but I have heard it's not as bad as people expect :)
