Implantation bleeding- drops when you wipe, right?

Had a really weird period this month. It came about 4 days earlier. Lasted 2 days, filled a tampon on the first day, then lighter, now a bit of brownish bleeding. I’ve never had a period like it. They are usually a minimum of 5 days bright red bleeding, and always on time. Has led me wondering to if something is up.

I’m a bit confused because medical resources say that implantation bleeding should just be a pinkish discharge on the toilet tissue, but then I’m reading stories of women who filled tampons for three days and turned out to be pregnant.

I don’t hugely want to be pregnant right now, so am not symptom spotting or going down a rabbit hole- just want to know if I’m making a fuss over nothing (it’s your period- stupid) or should do a test.

If I do a test, when? My period was supposed to get here tomorrow but if this is an implantation bleed then it would signal late ovulation?

Do an early detection test today to take your mind off it, the tests should be able to pick anything up by now x

As a pp said, I’d take an early detection test just to check.
