12 weeks pregnant - bleeding for two weeks.

Hi everyone,

I'm 12 weeks pregnant with my second baby.
At around 9 weeks, I started bleeding brown blood for a few days, had an early scan, the baby was fine and had a heartbeat. I was told it was implantation bleeding.
The bleeding went away and came back about a week later, I've now been bleeding on and off for the past two weeks. The blood is now reddish/brown rather than dark brown.
I had droplets of blood that might have been tiny little clots as not runny.
It's not a lot of blood but it's worrying me as it's been two weeks.

Last night I had cramps that were so painful they woke me up. It then calmed down but I bled around 30 minutes ago.

I'm really worried.

Did anyone have something like this?

Go to the EPU, better to get it checked and it be nothing than to worry yourself sick.

I was told I was too early for the maternity unit to see me, I have to go to A for the & E but they don't offer scans there.
Should I call back and specify EPU?

I would definitely call them back and specify EPU. Have you had your booking appointment for your midwife yet? If so, call them as well. Some EPU’s you can self refer to. Otherwise you could get a scan at window to the womb or somewhere similar just to check for heartbeat etc xx

My first pregnancy I was seen at the EPU from about 7 weeks, so at 12 weeks you shouldn’t be too early on to be seen at one.

I called them back and I will go tomorrow morning to get checked.
I am still having nausea so I'm hoping it's a good sign.

I went in and was told they couldn't see me because I wasn't 18 weeks pregnant yet even though I was told to go to triage on the phone
I just have to wait for my scan to come in

I'm 12 weeks and 3 days today so hopefully I will get my scan appointment soon

I still have nausea and cramps so I'm hoping those are good signs.

Oh that is so annoying!! I’m really sorry they wouldn’t see you. I’ll be keeping everything crossed for you and hopefully you will get your 12 week scan soon!

@purpleforests if you're worried I would go to A&E when I had bleeding I went into A&E and they gave me an examination and was booked in for a scan the next day. Especially if there are small clots you should go and be seen straight away. Fingers crossed everything is ok ❤️
