CD1 - Anyone else?

Hello all,

A new cycle unfortunately started for me today. I really thought last cycle was going to be the one but unfortunately not the case and AF has shown her ugly face!

I had an early miscarriage in early September and this was the first cycle back TTC #1

Just wondering if anyone wants to join on the journey this month - always nice to be able to speak to people in the same situation!

Baby dust to all x

Nothing yet @rosecbrm
I'm 11DPO and still haven't tested, mainly because I'm terrified of the result. Feeling very emotional.
Yesterday I found out that 3 people I know are pregnant. 1 is a university mate whose first DD just turned 1 a few weeks ago and now she's in her second trimester for baby 2. And my heart is breaking despite being happy for them.
So I'm throwing myself a little pity party today as I brace myself for AF's arrival this week.

How are you both doing?

Biscuitsarelife1 · 03/12/2023 15:27

Aww @MaryHua I hope you're okay! I know I already have one but slightly feel the same way. Everyone I know with babies younger or same age as my son are announcing they're pregnant with their second so it's so gutting no matter how happy you want to be for them. Fingers crossed for you.

I'm still persevered and not opening the Flo app although sneaky suspicion I'm in my fertile window/near ovulation as I've had EWCM the whole time we have been away!

rosecbrm · 03/12/2023 15:27

@MaryHua ahh well done for resisting!

I feel you with the people around you getting pregnant, as happy as I am for them you can't help being envious and disheartened.

All good here, still feeling positive about not tracking this cycle. I know roughly when i ovulate so it's not gonna make a huge difference but i feel like it takes a bit of the pressure off x

Aww thanks @rosecbrm and @Biscuitsarelife1 for your kind words. That's exactly it, a real juggling act to manage my emotions. Especially when they are going to be a bit all over the place if it's PMS.

I am considering testing tomorrow... I won't tell my husband as he just tells me to wait until 14DPO. If I did test tomorrow at 12DPO, do you think there is a good chance of a BFP showing on a test if I am pregnant? I really don't know which is the best thing to do next to try and have some control over the negative emotions.

Are you both still DTD this week then? That means you'll definitely not be out for testing in a few weeks time, so no harm in it! X ✨

rosecbrm · 04/12/2023 06:42

@MaryHua id like to think at 12dpo there's a good chance, what test would you be using?

I always think whilst testing early is disappointing most of the time, it doesn't change the outcome of whether you are pregnant or not. I think if you feel like you need to test then you should, but if you feel like you can wait a few more days then do that!

Keep us updated, sending lots of baby dust x

rosecbrm · 04/12/2023 06:43

In terms of DTD yes we're still going to! I'm CD6 today so about a week off my fertile period yet x

OP posts:
MaryHua · 04/12/2023 13:04

Thank you @rosecbrm you've actually reignited my resolve to not test until 14DPO because as you say, testing now won't change the outcome. I also woke up this morning still too scared to test.

Once test day comes I'll use ICs and a clearblue line test. I also need to order some FRER from Amazon today on prime delivery if I'm lucky! That being said, AF could show her face at any point now.

Well, I'm sending you lots of baby dust anyway, for you just never know what could happen. ✨ I've just read on another thread that a lady got a BFP despite not tracking last month and she only DTD once/twice as she cannot remember exactly when.

rosecbrm · 04/12/2023 13:13

@MaryHua that's good well done for holding out! I'd say by 14dpo you'd know for sure of the outcome.

How are you feeling in yourself? Have you noticed any symptoms?

Ahh that's good! Whilst it doesn't make a HUGE difference, I'm hoping it'll just take a bit of the pressure off and encourage me to hold off a bit when testing! X

I feel better and more human than yesterday @rosecbrm as I was just thinking irrationally.
Regarding symptoms I don't think I have any that I could definitely say were unusual. Mild cramping and pinching last night in my lower abdomen and last week I would have waves of nausea but no nausea over the weekend. I am more tired but again all this could just be PMS - especially the mood swings! 😂

It's funny how we adopt a different approach each month, and I think that's important. To give ourselves some peace and a mental break from it all. The bottom line is though, that if you have sex in that golden week you're in with a chance but not knowing your ovulation date could be a good thing so you're not counting the days! Let me know how you're finding it x

rosecbrm · 04/12/2023 13:26

@MaryHua it's so hard to know isn't it! All of that sounds promising though, got my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

I completely agree, it makes it not enjoyable when it's constantly on your mind. Definitely will do x

Hi again... I'm in disbelief... I caved and tested. Evening of 12DPO. Please can people confirm what I'm seeing? DH is cautiously optimistic but until he sees a digital, he's not jumping up and down yet. 🙈✨

MaryHua · 04/12/2023 20:49

@rosecbrm @Biscuitsarelife1 thank you so much! Absolutely delighted. But wary too as the next few weeks are so vital. Hope little one sticks xx

rosecbrm · 04/12/2023 20:58

@MaryHua got everything crossed for you! Huge congratulations 🤍

MaryHua · 04/12/2023 21:15

@rosecbrm thank you.
Hope you get the positive tests sometime very soon.
Just to say, we DTD a couple of times in and around ovulation. Using the clearblue smiley face OPKs.

rosecbrm · 04/12/2023 21:33

@MaryHua I was just about to ask did you use the pink or purple cleablue opks? Might give them a go as never have before!

Please still check in though, it would be lovely to hear how it's all going for you 🤍

OP posts:
MaryHua · 04/12/2023 21:46

@rosecbrm the pink ones with static smileys only. I definitely will. Just need get my head wrapped around the next stages and what to look out for.

rosecbrm · 05/12/2023 08:50

@MaryHua thank you! I might try them!

How are you feeling this morning? X

OP posts:
MaryHua · 05/12/2023 10:06

@rosecbrm I'm feeling ok. No symptoms really.
Rang the GP/midwives and have booked in for first consultation in January and 12 week scan then too.
I'm still confused about how they will measure my weeks because I ovulated so late. They are saying I'm 5 weeks at the moment but I'm only 4.

Have booked an early viability scan privately for 6 weeks so fingers crossed they can detect a heartbeat then, even if it's a bit early.
As an apprehensive person, I'm just trying to keep as calm as possible.

Let me know how you find the OPKs when you're ready to actively try again x

Biscuitsarelife1 · 05/12/2023 10:07

This is amazing @MaryHua congratulations again! FWIW, my sickness started dead on 6 weeks and lasted until 16!! I had an early scan at 7 weeks as they sometimes say 6 weeks is too early to detect heartbeat and can be disheartening so something to also think about!

MaryHua · 05/12/2023 10:10

Hi @Biscuitsarelife1
I definitely would prefer to wait until 7 or 8 weeks, but it falls on Christmas week and there is nothing available. So I have no choice but to go to the only one I can on 21st December.
Fingers crossed it's ok. I can cancel it up to 48 hours before...

Biscuitsarelife1 · 05/12/2023 10:24

@MaryHua ah that's fair enough! Hopefully you get lucky and can see it!

rosecbrm · 05/12/2023 10:35

@MaryHua so exciting!

@Biscuitsarelife1 how are you doing? X
