Hello all,

A new cycle unfortunately started for me today. I really thought last cycle was going to be the one but unfortunately not the case and AF has shown her ugly face!

I had an early miscarriage in early September and this was the first cycle back TTC #1

Just wondering if anyone wants to join on the journey this month - always nice to be able to speak to people in the same situation!

Baby dust to all x

Officially out girls! AF just arrived as I thought it would as I ovulated a day earlier than predicted on my Flo app. I'm a little gutted but I've got a busy December - going away and various Christmas parties so guess makes things easier! We're having a break this month too!

Keep us posted on you guys! Best of luck girlies x

MaryHua · 24/11/2023 12:30

@Biscuitsarelife1
Awww sorry to hear. It never gets easier does it?
But I'm so glad that you've got some nice things lined up, and it's a fun time of year.
By the time my AF is due you'll be nearly ovulating again. I know you're having a break this month, but if you did decide to actively try, then you'll have to keep us posted.
Take care of yourself though and do something nice 😊 x

Biscuitsarelife1 · 24/11/2023 12:33

I honestly didn't think I'd ever feel this way but it is starting to get me and we've only really been trying since September so no time at all- and I've already got a little one so I can't really moan! But thank you for your kind message 🤍

MaryHua · 24/11/2023 12:44

@Biscuitsarelife1 oh I can entirely relate. We started TTC in August when I got my implant out, so not long at all. I ovulated 9 or 10 days after having implant out so my fertility came back quickly.
But I'm on month 4 now and I'm also starting to think what are we doing wrong? We time sex so well (we think...?)
I got so worked up when I wasn't ovulating on time that I've booked a fertility scan - it's tomorrow at 10am and I'm still going to just get some reassurance maybe?

As for you already having a wee one, don't let that make you feel that you can't express your worries. It's still entirely justified to feel that way so don't feel guilty.
If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take you to fall pregnant with your first child? Were you trying for a baby? X

Biscuitsarelife1 · 24/11/2023 12:50

@MaryHua I have seen these scans and think there's definitely no harm in going- Window to the Womb do them here for us! I'd love to go to double check everything's OK- maybe I will go if we have no luck in a few more months.

That's the thing, we decided we wanted to start trying- no prep for it at all in terms of vitamins, diet, etc, didn't even do OPKs just went by the Flo App and I fell pregnant our first month trying which is why I stupidly thought it would be the same again. I haven't been on hormonal contraception the whole time we have been together so it's not that causing any issues. I have no idea if we were just lucky the first time, or if something has happened in between to one of us which now means it's taking longer? He is 2 for reference and I've only just turned 27 so not hugely older!

MaryHua · 24/11/2023 12:59

@Biscuitsarelife1
I would safely say that you won't have issues this time round. You were just very lucky the first time and shows that everything was working as it should.
But having a check may be something to work towards if you have no joy the next few months.
I'll let you know how mines goes tomorrow and what's involved.
I'm 28 (29 next month) so I would hope that age is on my side for me too... DH is 36 though but I don't think it's as big an issue for men? X

Biscuitsarelife1 · 24/11/2023 13:00

Yes please do let us know! If you've just ovulated apparently they can see on the ultrasounds so would be quite interesting! And no I don't think men have age as an issue -lucky things!

MaryHua · 24/11/2023 13:33

@Biscuitsarelife1 yes I've heard that too. So you never know. Too bad I can't see if an egg was fertilised!! 😂😂

rosecbrm · 24/11/2023 13:38

So sorry to hear that @Biscuitsarelife1 , at least you have stuff to look forward to!

Completely get you both with how down it makes you, after my early miscarriage in September I have convinced myself I'll never get pregnant again! It is really such a whirlwind xx

10DPO and BFN again this morning! Husband says I'm testing too early but I really felt like this month would be the one so am sad that my tests have been negative so far, I definitely think I just had a bad case of lime eyes with thinking I'm seeing shadows!

AF due Monday and got some cramps today so I wouldn't be surprised if I started spotting today!

Still super sore boobs which is not normal for me but hey ho, our bodies love to trick us!!

Hope everyone else is ok xx

Don't know if anyone else will find this interesting though, it gives you like the probability of when you implanted based on you ov and when would be best to test! Also gives statistics on when people get their BFPs, apparently 12dpo is the most common!

Mines coming up as most probably implanted yesterday so test on Monday, but we'll see I guess!

Sorry hear that @rosecbrm ! You never know it may still be too early. Have read online some people don't implant until 12 DPO and you wouldn't get a BFP until implantation has happened. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤍🤞🏼

rosecbrm · 25/11/2023 08:34

Thank you @Biscuitsarelife1 , I know in my head it could still happen but I'm just doubtful.. I just really felt pregnant this month which in hindsight is so silly!!!

Hope you're doing ok xx

Biscuitsarelife1 · 25/11/2023 08:36

@rosecbrm it definitely still could. But totally get it, I was the same the first month we tried this time around, absolutely convinced myself i was pregnant and absolutely gutted when I wasn't. We are the worst for symptom spotting! I've learnt I now need to ignore - sore and itchy boobs/nipples, cramps, sore throats when I wake up, bloating, tiredness, and feeling sick - lol!

rosecbrm · 25/11/2023 08:38

Literally @Biscuitsarelife1 !!

I think because i conceived so quickly with the miscarriage, I just assumed it would be quick again and obviously that's not the case!

I've logged all my symptoms this time in Flo so next month if I get the same and start questioning myself I can tell myself to stop being stupid 😂 x

I'm at the scan clinic now to get my fertility scan.
It's a nice enough clinic but in a very old building and rooms aren't soundproof.
I'm already finding it quite triggering seeing all the other excited expectant parents coming for their baby scans, some of them with older children with them or buggies. One has said to another "we caught on our first month trying". It's so hard to digest that some people are that lucky and others can be waiting years...
I can hear the sonographer saying excitedly all the good things like "there's the heartbeat"... "everything is measuring as it should".... etc.
I feel so deflated.
And equally terrified of going in and everyone in the waiting room hearing that I'm there to see if my organs are working. Like I feel a bit of a failure compared to these other women.

Anyway, as long as everything is ok, I suppose I need to take the positives from that.

MaryHua · 25/11/2023 13:11

Update @rosecbrm @Biscuitsarelife1
My scan was promising and didn't show any signs of pathology or things that could get in the way of a successful pregnancy.
The sonographer was lovely and she was able to see that I had ovulated from my left ovary and showed me the large mature follicle that the egg erupted from. I know it's not a pregnancy scan, but seeing that follicle even made me a bit emotional, as I now know my body did do what it was designed to.

I know it's a long way to go to having a healthy baby, but it's a start and the reassurance was what I needed at this stage.

If anyone else is considering getting this scan in future, feel free to ask me any questions about it x

rosecbrm · 25/11/2023 19:22

I'm glad you had good news @MaryHua also very lovely that you had your ovulation confirmed etc xx

OP posts:
Biscuitsarelife1 · 25/11/2023 19:24

@MaryHua sounds like it went well and glad you had your ovulation confirmed and nothing else appearing to be stopping you from getting pregnant- good news and hopefully makes you feel a little more at ease although like you said it's a long journey ahead to get to a healthy baby. Let's hope fingers crossed this is your month🤞🏼

MaryHua · 25/11/2023 19:31

@rosecbrm @Biscuitsarelife1 thank you both!
I'm 3DPO and trying not to focus on it too much.

Any developments @rosecbrm ?

rosecbrm · 25/11/2023 19:47

Nothing so far, 10DPO and still bfn! @MaryHua

MaryHua · 25/11/2023 20:34

How is everyone?

I started spotting today so pretty sure AF is coming for me! :( x

OP posts:
MaryHua · 26/11/2023 18:44

@rosecbrm ah no! Sorry to hear. But again, spotting could be one of two things at this stage. But I understand how disheartening it is and not knowing for sure.

I'm ok. 4DPO so nothing to report at the moment. Feeling ok, but not sure how long that will last!
