Help - feeling super sad and confused

Hi, so I don’t normally post on here I’m an avid mumsnet lurker but I’m feeling a bit past it and thought I may as-well jump on!
A bit of a back story I’m 23 and my partner is 24 so we are pretty young and healthy!
In july I suffered a chemical pregnancy, or early miscarriage at just over 6 weeks.
My cycles have always been long since coming off birth control (over a year ago) and are about 40 days in length, with maybe a difference of a day or two.
We have tried everything since then to get pregnant: opks, smep, bbt just DTD every other day of my entire cycle and nothing.
This month I had what I thought was a positive opk on an asda opk but just a flashing smiley on clear blue.
Yesterday I got a static smiley on clear blue but negative on asda but the lines on the asda tests were getting darker not dark enough though. As of Sunday I had light spotting which yesterday turned to dark red spotting enough to be vusable on a panty liner but not heavy enough for a period, no clots and no cramping at all but today bright red blood!
It is CD28 so almost 2 weeks before my predicted period ! Has anyone had anything similar I’m starting to get myself super upset as I feel like it is never going to happen for us and feel like we have missed out this month and potentially next month if this cycle is off! Sorry for the long read plz help :(

It could be a disappointing outcome but a pregnancy test will provide a greater indication than whatever anecdote anyone in this forum can share.

thanks for your replies!! I thought that it could be a 28 day cycle too but I’ve had a positive ovulation test this morning and still bleeding but still way lighter than I’ve ever had for a period. Feeling a bit fed up :/

@Pumpkinmoo is it defo pos ov? The line is darker than the control line?

Yeah deffos positive it’s darker than the control line

Have you taken a preg test?

OPKs can be positive if detecting HCG also so take a pregnancy test, light bleeding could be implantation but I don’t want to get your hopes up. Let us know how u go

Hey @Pumpkinmoo as the others have said hcg can pick up on an LH test so would take a pregnancy test in case you ovulated earlier than normal this month. Also if you've been trying for over a year might be worth going to your GP. This is the route I'm going down at the moment, no answers yet but makes me feel like I have a bit of a plan and feel less hopeless about it all. Best wishes x
