Spotting for a week after period for last 5 months and ttc. Anyone else had this and got a bfp and/or worked out why the spotting happened?

Ive always had quite normal cycles, around 31/32 days, about 4/5 days period and no spotting. For the last 5 cycles I’ve had brown spotting for about a week after the period has ended (usually 2 days of nothing, then the very light spotting starts.)
I’ve been ttc for the last 3 months, the first I had a chemical pregnancy, then no luck the next 2. I’m convinced the spotting is causing an issue.
Ive read so much about people spotting before their period but not after, so I just want to know if anyone else is in the same boat? Do they know why? And has anyone conceived successfully while spotting after their period?
Just fyi, I’m in the process of getting this checked with doc, already had an ultrasound and they couldn’t find anything. I’m not convinced so I’m going through the motions to go private at the moment.
Any similar experiences please tell!

@Cuppeltea I’ve just seen your post and am in exactly the same situation. Been ttc my second for 16 months, and have had 3 chemicals in that time. I have the same spotting as you (and have done for the whole 16 months) and convinced I have a hormone imbalance which is affecting my ability to conceive. Do you have any update on your situation? X

I've had this throughout my life, or the current version where I spot for 5 days before the period. Or both, when I was younger. It has not impacted my ability to conceive so good luck.

@1SparklingWater1 sorry to hear you’re struggling to conceive. If it gives you any hope I did end up falling pregnant the next cycle after I posted so I’m not sure if the spotting was actually related. I had done a functional hormone test called the DUTCH test a few months prior which showed I had suuuper high oestrogen levels so I was trying to bring them down with nutrition and lifestyle changes, but again I don’t know if it was that which helped because I still had the spotting the month before I conceived.
I really hope it happens for you soon, it’s so stressful when you don’t know what’s going on. A vaginal microbiome test could be useful to do, there is research that the microbiome could be linked to early miscarriages, so it’s good to rule out (or in, so you can do something about it). Look up Invivo vaginal microbiome test. Good luck :)

@Cuppeltea thanks for taking the time to reply to this. Stories like yours give me some much needed hope. I’ve just turned 38 so I guess egg quality also played a part with the chemical pregnancies. I just want to make sure I’m doing something about the parts that I can control (eg investigating the spotting), rather than focusing on my age. Will look into your suggestions! I’m guessing your due date is about now? That's lovely news it worked out for you.

@Commonsense22 thank you - this is also reassuring

@1SparklingWater1 totally agree, it’s great to do all that we can that’s in our control. I’m 37 so similar age to you but like you I didn’t want to just blame my age when it could be nothing to do with it! I’m due end of July so not long now. I really hope you get what you want and find some answers about the spotting. I do wonder sometimes whether mine will come back when my periods return.
