Hi ladies ttc 2 years now getting tubes check next month is my final investigation for unexplained infertility, me and my partner have decided to do IUI in January then IVF in March if iui fails, but alot of people are saying just go straight for IVF, I'm totally torn on what to do! All of this is very expensive here in Ireland, What are yer thoughts or experiences on this?
Thanks in advance xx

Hi @Cloclo93 ..I’m having a similar dilemma to you! We’ve been trying for two years now too with unexplained infertility, my other half is happy to go straight to IVF and has been for a while now but I wanted to keep trying for a bit longer. Our doctor has never been enthusiastic about IUI but said if we go down the treatment route to go for IVF.

IUI seems like a nice middle ground but a lot of money to lose if it doesn’t work out..

have you had any more advice since your post? Hope you're well x

IUI is a total waste of time and money

@vodkawipes thanks for your response..

@Nutellaandacuppa I'm still torn in 2! We had consultation with fertility nurse she also advised ivf as we have already done clomid and trigger shots in the past she said it's basically the same as iui, then I hear how doctors push ivf because of money ? Also I'm seen more negatives then positives on iui. It's just alot of money to risk losing if you get that BFN after the tww
My AMH is very low for my age to aswell which is pushing me towards ivf too
How about you? Have you decided anything? Xx

@vodkawipes thanks for your response..

It's a genuine response, I have done both IUI and IVF. IUI is expensive and doesn't have great outcomes.

I really believe it's a waste of time and money.

Thank you! It was a genuine reply, I appreciate the honesty :)

@Cloclo93 I think we are planning to go down the IVF route in January.. seems IUI isn’t very recommended and a high chance of an expensive bfn. I was just hoping for a happy middle ground but maybe at this point I need to just bite the bullet and go all in!!

hope you’re ok.. sorry you’re going through this stuff too xx
