Where to start with ovulation tracking

I had my coil out on Friday and have ordered ovulation strips. I haven't had a proper period in a few months (probably due to the coil) so I'm not sure where to start with using the strips. Do I just start checking daily straight away? Is there an app I should be using?

This will be my third baby and I took about a year to conceive my first two so any advice welcome.

Are you just wanting to use LH strips or chart temp/mucus too - that is probably more effective (and cheaper) than just strips but also slightly more labour intensive. If so though, fully recommend reading Taking Charge of your Fertility book.
by only using LH strips, you can miss valuable fertile days because you’re fertile up to 5 days before ovulation, and your peak LH strips will occur just a day or two before ovulation ☺️ if using them though, you could start doing them every day after your period until you get a sense of when you need them - eg. I start around CD10 (no point wasting them before then as I’ve never had a LH peak before cd12)

Depends on the type of coil I think. Can try testing straight away but will be easier after first period

I used a period tracking app which definitely helped me to conceive after I had my coil removed

The Premom app is great for recording your LH strips too!
