Is there any point tracking BBT before coil removal?

Hi everyone

We're thinking of TTC next March when I'm 34, and probably going to prep in advance by tracking BBT and taking vits etc. I'm going to get the coil removed ASAP, but I already have the thermometer. My questions are:

Is there any point tracking BBT before coil is removed?

If not, when is best to start - straight after coil removal or after I've had a period after the coil removal?

Thanks, I hope these aren't stupid questions, very much feel like I'm still learning about all of this!

No point tracking. Yes track after you remove - best time depends when you usually ovulate.

I think it depends what kind of coil you have. If you have the mirena there won't be any point until you get it out as the hormones should be affecting your hormones and ovulation and therefore your temps. If it's a copper coil, you could as there won't be anything affecting your hormones so your cycle should be the same. It took me a few months to get the hang of doing it at the same time everyday so a couple of practice months to get into the swing of it probably won't hurt!

Hormones will change once you come off any form of contraception, BBT will only be effective when not on anything.
