Pregnancy test is getting lighter everyday

Ktc9600 · 27/10/2023 18:10

Please can someone, anyone respond to me to put my mind at ease.
I tested postive Wednesday 25th October very faint but very much there.
I have since tested the past two days and my tests do not seem to be getting any darker. ( tested multiple times throughout the day with fmu am pm)I'm so worried I'm having another chemical.
Did anyone else's tests get lighter but ended in happy news? Or am I just having another chemical again?
First 2 pics are Wednesday tests. Last pic is today....

How many dpo are you?
testing multiple times in a day and consecutive days can be hard to see progression since hcg doubles every 48hrs I think. Multiple times during the day could be diluted and skew the results.

I’d recommend testing again in two days and check back again but appreciate it might be hard to do so.

fingers crossed for you

Ktc9600 · 27/10/2023 20:44

Thankyou so much for taking the time to reply!
I guess it's because I had a chemical in December. My tests never got darker so this time round I can't help but check the progress. I'm 14dpo today (rough guess as didn't track at all this month)

I would stop testing with these ones. I would do a digital one that says pregnant as I find it more assuring and somehow making it more real. And then stop testing and just keep taking pregnancy supplements and hope for the best. Good luck!

emmatcc1 · 27/10/2023 22:25

Those seem to be barely picking up hcg. I would do another clear blue and the line progression there should be more visible soon.

Starsnspikes · 27/10/2023 22:49

I had some tests (Superdrug and Sainsbury's...yes I was going test mad) which showed a consistently faint line even when others looked clearer.

I'd recommend the Boots early result tests, or First Response if you can get hold of them. Get a couple and test 2 days apart if you can wait that long. I think that will give you a much better idea.

Crossing my fingers for you x

Ktc9600 · 28/10/2023 07:44

14dpo I think, took a test this morning still the same

@Ktc9600 I'm sorry but if the tests have stayed similar or not got darker over 4 days it doesn't look good :( I've attached my tests from my chemical and my current pregnancy. There was a big difference in the intensity of the line and progression, you would be at the equivalent of 9dp5dt now.

Didn't want to just read and run. Just to say I know how hard it is and I know people tell you not to test , but I had to for my anxiety. I had 3 miscarriages before I had my DS, and I dread to think how much I spent on pregnancy tests. With my pregnancies my lines were all obviously very clear, with my 2 earlier losses my lines then got lighter.

I really hope you end up with a positive outcome this time. But if not don't give up hope 💐.

rainbowstardrops · 28/10/2023 08:36

I so hope you have a positive outcome 🤞🏻

Ktc9600 · 28/10/2023 12:53

That was my worry, it's as if I can't carry past 5 weeks. I do have a beautiful ds and he's about to be 7. But my god I cannot afford to keep this fertility journey going. Were out of money and hope at this stage. But I'm sure it's chemical as it isn't getting much darker

Sorry to hear you’re going through this @Ktc9600 - the waiting is the worst part! Not knowing which way it will go is the trickiest part of getting a bfp after recurrent chemicals.

I’m in a very similar position to you - tested positive with a very, very faint line at 10dpo and they don’t appear to have got darker every 48 hours (in my previous pregnancies they have). However, unlike my previous two chemicals this year, they also haven’t got lighter… just very gradually creeping up but still not as dark as they should be (I’m now about 5 and a half weeks I think…) I started having some bleeding yesterday so I’m assuming beginnings of another loss but the lines on my test are still stronger than when I lost my chemicals.

I have now contacted the GP and they’ve asked me to come for blood tests on Thursday, even if this does (as I expect) result in a loss of the pregnancy. It may be worth contacting someone if you are struggling to get past that initial stage?

I hope it works out for you - ttc is so stressful!

Ktc9600 · 28/10/2023 16:08

Thanks for reply I have my fingers crossed for you, do you have photos of your current tests?
Unfortunately for me my fertility doctor has said my next step is ivf.
I have 2 more tried with letrozole but ironically I didn't take it this time around x

Here are my tests - easy@home ones were taken at first and then when we came away I only brought clearblue ones with me so those are taken Sat, Mon and Wed. The one on its own is yesterday’s. As you can see, there really is no progression so I’m waiting for my light bleeding to become something more substantial.

Yours look alot more promising then mine, what dpo are your last tests?
Have you spoken to g.p about your concerns? X

Downtherabbithole83 · 28/10/2023 17:00

The last one is 25dpo! So it should definitely be darker. The first one I took was 10 or 11dpo I think…

I contacted my GP early on because I don’t understand why I keep having chemicals (at least 2 not including this one since Feb, possibly one more but I didn’t test…) when before my tfmr in Nov, my previous pregnancies all progressed without issue. I’ve got a blood test for hcg levels on Thursday which they want me to go to even if my current bleed becomes a miscarriage.

Ktc9600 · 28/10/2023 17:20

I completely understand your frustration. My head would be blown as there clearly postives but not getting any darker? Bur at the same time not lighter either... have you had any cramping with the bleeding?

OP posts:
Downtherabbithole83 · 28/10/2023 17:25

I had some cramping but very mild and in my last pregnancy I had that anyway (it was actually what made me take a pregnancy test).

I’m coming home from my holiday today so tomorrow I’ll take an easy@home test to see what that one looks like in comparison to before I went away. It’ll be 6 days since the last of that kind of test so will be interesting to see the difference. Though I’ve found those tests are really affected by how much I’ve had to drink…

When will you test next?

Ktc9600 · 28/10/2023 18:32

Fingers crossed for you I really hope this is it 🙏 I'll be honest I've tested an hour ago it's even fainter. Trying to get my head round the fact it's more then likely a chemical again. 2 chemicals in 10 months...

OP posts:
Downtherabbithole83 · 28/10/2023 19:36

@Ktc9600 it’s not looking good here either really… bleeding has increased and is red now too. In some ways it would be a relief to at least know.

Remember that testing on the same day at different times doesn’t give you lines you can compare - you need to give it 48 hours really.

Downtherabbithole83 · 29/10/2023 10:21

@Ktc9600 did you test today?

I’ve still got a line about the same so way too faint for almost 6 weeks which combined with the bleeding (still not a huge amount but I think it’s increasing) means I’m out at this point. I’ll keep using the cheapies but now it’s more to see when the hcg starts to dip.

We’ll try again next month 🤷‍♀️

Tentatively no wonder you are skint spending all that on tests... Take test. Sit back. Relax and be patient...
Ttc really doesn't need to be so stressful. You have a ds to keep you busy. Keep busy. Distraction=stay sane! Good luck.
