Do I have a chance?

So been on and off “trying” for around a year. I say trying very loosely, as neither of us having high sex drives so I’d say about 5 months of that year, we didn’t hit dates etc, so I am not shocked or worried as such that it’s not happened. I also discovered I had cysts on my ovaries but again, after scans they said they were not abnormal and I shouldn’t worry about them preventing pregnancy.

Anyway…. I did a random OPK 16/10/23 and the line was very bold so I assume it was probably my peak (stupidly didn’t scan it onto the Premom App) then did another yesterday and it was still very bold so we DTD yesterday. I’ve just done another test and the line was back to very dull (reading low on the app). I’m not sure exactly how OPK works as in if my peak was 16/17th Oct and I DTD on 17th, would I have hit ovulation? Do I have a chance having only had sex once this month? Is there any point DTD tonight?

@xxxndbm you certainly have a chance 👍🏻

My understanding is, you should ovulate 12-24hrs after your peak opk, then the egg will survive 12-24hrs after release. The exact specifics of this vary a bit depending what source you read but are roughly on these timescales. So potentially, you're still in with a chance dtd two days following your peak opk. I would say go for it again tonight if you can! Good luck!

Once in your fertile window is enough, we got pregnant after one occasion and our LO is almost 5.

Good luck
