Fever/illness during conception and 2ww :-(

We’ve been trying ttc #2 for a while now, DD1 not getting any younger (now 2.75), and i feel so, so sad about it.

This month i feel like we timed things really well, although I ovulated early again (CD11 i think, LH test agrees, but fever makes temping hard). But then on the night during which i think I ovulated, i spiked a temperature and have now been ill for the next couple of days. First day i kept it down with paracetamol, but not during the first night.

Just feeling generally rubbish about A) not being pregnant, B) this month probably being ruined due to this, before it even started and C) being full of cold in general.

Anyone get ill and fever exactly at ovulation? Any stories to get me through the next couple of weeks before i know the answer, so we can try again?

Yes, unfortunately for me it didn't end well though I have no idea whether that's due to being ill or just genetics. In March 2022 I got food poisoning a day or so after ovulation and still got pregnant but it ended with a blighted ovum at 7 weeks.

Just here to say I'm in completely the same position - I have suspected bronchitis and had a biiig fever over last Sat/Sun. I think I ovulated maybe yesterday (I usually temp, but obviously that's totally out this cycle!) and didn't manage to BD as close to ovulation as I'd normally like. This is our 5th cycle, so likewise feeling a bit down.

Happy to keep you company over the next two weeks! I've got a 3 year old DD and being quite poorly with a child that is old enough to understand you're ill, but not old enough to care has not been fun 😂 I hope you're on the mend now at least x

I’ve had flu during this cycle too and over the days I was meant to ovulate :( still quite run down and hoping for the best but let’s see - I know how you feel sending you so much luck xx

@etaketak1991 Yes, please do keep me company! Sounds like we are indeed in similar positions. My nearly 3 year old sounds similar, she just keeps bringing me all of her cuddlies and tucking them in with me 😅Though on the cold front I’m starting to feel much better at least.

@1111hope Fingers crossed for you too! Do come and join our ‘ill when ovulating’ party… life is just not fair sometimes.

My morning’s dilemma is that looking at my BBT chart, it currently doesn’t look like I’ve ovulated at all. Maybe it will be a slow rise? But then i also know that my temps before ovulation could have been affected by a mild fever, so really BBT is just inaccurate this month… but it still gets me down, wondering if i even ovulated at all. According to my LH test, and change in CM and position, i have, But temperatures are definitely inconclusive.

@JustKeepClimbing Aw your DD sounds like a sweetheart! Mine swings between being very sweet or staring me in the eyes and telling me I'm not ill when I can't help her with her handstands 😂

I'd say based on your other symptoms it's pretty likely that you've ovulated. If you normally confirm ovulation each month then hopefully this one's not the exception 🤞 What are your temps like compared to previous cover lines?
I somehow got a cover line this morning, it's about 0.3° higher than normal but I'll take it 😂 I've only been tracking it for the last 3 days, my temps before that were from almost a fortnight ago!

@JustKeepClimbing Weirdly that one was... ok... stressful at the time but once we knew what was happening it was easier to deal with. I then had an MMC last December and an IVF chemical in July. Managed to randomly get pregnant naturally in August and am currently 10 weeks. Very nervous though!

Ok, now i am less sure i ovulated at all… CM was white and creamy this morning, but now seems ‘wet’ again?? Not EWCM, but maybe what i would get before. Maybe we need to get back to DTD…

Temps are higher than usual for FP, but lower than usual for LP? Fever still? Temp seems fine now?

Think my body is broken, i also had a chemical cycle before last. My periods have been really light since they returned at 23 months PP, i wonder whether i have a lining/estrogen problem.

@etaketak1991 Your DD sounds like a lot of fun! Toddlers are great :-) until at night time, when mine can be a real handful throughout the night still. Sleep is developmental 😅she will get there. Good that you’ve got a cover line! The algorithm thinks you’re in!

@TheBirdintheCave Gosh, you’ve been through a lot, big hugs. Massive congratulations on this pregnancy! I have everything crossed that all goes perfectly to plan and you have your little one safe in about 6 months time!

@JustKeepClimbing Thank you! I hope you manage to work out what's going on in this cycle. I will say, I had Covid at the end of August over my usual ovulation time and it actually delayed it by a week and a half so it could be that your body hasn't ovulated yet and it might still happen later.

Yes! This happened to me. I was due to ovulate on the Thursday and had a vomiting bug Tues-Thurs.
I must have ovulated early though because I’m lying here next to my 11 week old daughter 💞 I definitely thought I was out that month!

We'd been ttc for almost a year, the month I fell pregnant I had raging covid, and during the TWW I pulled a muscle in my back from coughing so much! But hey presto, pregnant. My daughter is now 10 months old, perfectly healthy pregnancy. I couldn't believe that of all months, it was that month I fell pregnant!

I have also tested positive this month after having flu haha it must be a sign maybe it makes you more easily pregnant lol
