Pregnancy test is confusing me!

Hi everyone! I'm new here so thank you for bearing with me!

For context I suffer from PCOS and am T2D. However, I get periods (irregularly) and am fairly active despite being overweight.

Sunday before last I had to go to an out of hours gp as I was having really bad pain. They tested me for a UTI, which came back positive, but they also got a faintly positive for pregnancy. We had removed the copper coil 5 days prior, so it felt really unlikely, but we went with it!

2 days later (which would have been 2 days after my period), with an at home test, I tested negative, with a very very faint coloured line appearing that night.

Today (a week later than my period date that hasn't started), I tested using clear blue for the first time. After 9 mins, no result so I chucked it.

However, another 30 mins later, I looked again and saw this. I know that evap lines are meant to be clear, and I know this was 40 mins after the test was initially taken. I don't know what to make of it?

Any thoughts?

CB are notorious for evap lines - have you tested using a pink dye test ?

You’re looking outside the time window which invalidates the test.

Oh boooo :( are they coloured evap lines too? That's so annoying! So expensive and for what 😂 I have done I believe that the cassette the out of hours gp used was a pink dye test as was the one I used last week :)

Which is absolutely what I would usually go with. I think the positive at the gp is throwing me, plus my DP is just so beyond themselves with excitement about all of this that it's a lot!

I read something on here recently about UTI giving false positives. Fingers crossed for you though!

That line is really thin so it looks like an evap unfortunately. The bloody blue dye tests have probably given most of the ladies here false hope (me included). I hope you get your bfp soon though!

Ahh thanks so much. I think I need to tell my DP to chill - they have their hopes so high from that initial doctors appointment 😞 I'm unsure how easy it'll be to get that BFP given the pcos and irregular periods ;/ but here's hoping! Thanks so much for your kindness x

I would love to tell you that I think this is positive but I have had loads of Clear Blues like this and they were all evaps and all came up outside the time window.

I would never use them again, they caused me so much heartbreak x

CB nearly gave me a heart attack a few months ago when I got an evap line .. I still have regular periods … but I’m 51 !!!!
