Ovulation tips

Hey everyone, I’m new to tracking ovulation- I had a miscarriage in June but I wasn’t tracking ovulation before that. Now we are trying again I’m finding tracking ovulation hard to get my head round! I’m doing my bbt & I ovulated late last month due to surgery for retained products- but previously when I last got pregnant I know I ovulated around 14 days according to flo app. When is the best time to take ovulation tests? I’m using FMU currently and I’m guessing I need to do a late afternoon/evening test? How long do I need to not drink for? I’m so new to this so any tips would be great! I want to get back on track and learn what my body is doing and when every month

Don't use FMU for ovulation tests, you're unlikely to get a positive. Try testing mid morning and again later in the day after at least a 2 hour hold (up to four if you can manage it). Recommend the easy @ home strips and scanning them into the premom app. You'll likely ovulate 24-48 hours after getting a positive test.

I used fmu got positive and fell pregnant 😊

@Cowlover89 it's not impossible to get a positive using FMU, especially if you are someone with a prolonged lh spike (some people test positive for a couple of days). but you are unlikely to get your spike start overnight so if you are someone who only has a sudden rise and fall over the course of only a few hours you would almost certainly miss it if using FMU. The tests recommend not using FMU for this reason.

I have been using clear blue digital which shows you when your estrogen increases & then also when you get you LH surge which is 1-2 days before ovulation. These have been perfect in telling me when I’m ovulating. Expensive but worth it

I did 😊

Read that wrong. Though it said its impossible. I preferred fmu and it worked

Usually my FMU is around 10am as I work late most nights does that change things? Everytime I do an afternoon test even after not drinking and holding for 2-3 hours my tests are always a lot lower than my morning ones 😩 it really is so difficult! Am I right holding and not drinking for around 2/3 hours and testing around 6pm?

I have these! Just got them so will be using this month! Do you use FMU or afternoon/evening time?

I use to hold it in for like 2 to 3 hours

Kate9423 · 16/10/2023 21:22

I drink a lot throughout the day so found anything after FMU was pointless for me. I'm another FMU fan!

Great Thankyou so much ☺️

I’m the same! I find it so hard to hold and not drink.. I’ve been doing this for about 2/3 hours and my afternoon tests are always lower! So I was worried I’m not testing at the right times 😞
