Please can someone explain to me how to see a line that isn't there.

After a miscarriage 2 years ago I decided I couldn't go through that again and I was two and done.

This week I have felt so many pregnancy symptoms.

My period is fairly irregular and not due until next week.

I have taken cheapie pregnancy tests twice now. Both negative. However why am I staring at the negative and allowing my eyes to see a faint line that isn't really there??

I don't want another baby. But I'd love if it was positive. 5 year gap is much bigger than the plan. I am still staring at a negative and every now and then can make out a faint line. I do think it is a made up line however.

If you cover up the control line it stops you seeing the colour and then super imposing it on the white background. There was a technical explanation of why your eyes do this by a scientist, but I can’t for the life of me remember the details.
Of course if your aren’t using contraception then there’s every chance it may turn positive, but I understand the self preservation of not actively trying. I’m sorry for your losses.

Thank you for replying. That dot is just a dye spill isn't it. Is there even a dot there?

Sorry for your losses - take one tomorrow morning. I can see something but tomorrow it will be clearer if there is anything, these tests are a nightmare. I always see lines on them, then AF arrives. Fingers crossed you get the result you want 🤞🏼
