TTC number 2

We're just starting to TTC baby number 2, DC1 is nearly 15 months old. I got a positive OPK last night and again this morning, DTD today, so keeping my fingers crossed! It took years to concieve DC1 so I suppose I'd be very lucky to concieve on our first try this time, but I am trying to be optimistic. Not looking forward to how much the two week wait drags though! Anyone else at a similar cycle point and want some company over the next 2 weeks?

Yes! We are also trying to conceive a second baby. We had a miscarriage that required surgery in august. I ovulated 2 days ago! My peak LH being 3 days ago… We’ve been trying since February. So fingers crossed for both me and you!!

@Ems1992 @MegaBlox6 not quite there yet with trying but I wondered if either of you breastfed and if so, how many feeds did you get down to in order to get your cycle back? My daughter is 7 months and it took over a year to conceive her so we think we should get going sooner rather than later but I'm still breastfeeding including at night once. I'm not ready to give it up yet. Best of luck to both of you in your journeys to no.2! X

Hi, I'm ttc baby no2 as well and my son is 14 months old. Took 10 months to conceive him but my cycles seem much more regular postpartum. I was feeling quietly confident but I'm 10dpo and have had a bfn in an easy@home cheapie so feeling deflated now even though af not due until Wednesday or Thursday. I got my bfp at 11dpo with my son, it was really strong then but I didn't test any earlier to know if I would have had a faint line on the days before. Wishing everyone luck!

@Ems1992 sorry about your miscarriage. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I only came off the pill on the 20th September, been doing OPKs since then and finally got the peaks yesterday/this morning, but I've not had a period since coming off the pill so I think I'd be very lucky to conceive tbh

@FlyOnTheWall89 Sorry, I didn't breastfeed mine in the end (but not for a lack of trying), I only had 1 post partum period at 10 weeks then went on the pill so can't really say I know what my cycles are like anyway anymore. I get what you mean about wanting to get going sooner rather than later with TTC, it took us over 4 years to concieve the first time so I do have that feeling a bit under pressurebthat we need to get cracking sooner rather than later too.

@HRHXO sorry about the bfn. We must have had our first babies around the same time. I got my bfp at about 11 dpo first time round and was always testing really early. I've vowed to wait until AF is due to test this time round but I know I'm lying to myself and I'll probably break about 8/9 dpo and test

@MegaBlox6 yeah we must have! I had ds in August although he was due in October! He was exactly 2 months premature.
I never used to test early, this is only cycle 1 ttc for no2 and I've gone mad! 😅

@HRHXO my son was born late July. Though after what felt like a million years of labour I thought it might be August by the time he made an appearance. Haha, I swear TTC removes all your logic. Like I know it makes no sense to spend days squinting at tests and I'd have saved myself a lot of heartache (and money!) over the years if I'd just waited for my period. But about a week into the 2 week wait something takes over, common sense goes out the window and the cheap pregnancy test strips are out. I've already dug out and checked the use by dates on the ones I had left over from last time...
