Planning to start TTC in 3 months. Looking for any insights and things to consider before ttc. I know about prenatal vitamins and folic acid. Planning to start using ovulation sticks.
Are there any tips on doing some things before ttc for making this journey easier and quicker?

@Woofoof sounds like you've got the important things in hand! Might be worth having a thing about:

  • do you want to use an app to help track your cycles and opk readings etc. Lots of different ones out there. Check a couple out and see what works for you. I use PreMom (free version)
  • your approach to dtd - particularly around peak fertile days. If just starting and time is on your side then I'd recommend keeping this as chilled out and fun as possible as it can quite quickly become very regimented and business like if you're not careful 😊
  • how you will handle the dreaded two week wait (tww) - specifically, getting into early testing etc. I don't test early but lots do and it does seem to cause quite a lot of anxiety/anguish/confusion and of course, it costs money for the tests. But it can be easier said than done to wait. I'm currently 13dpo and have been really tempted the last two mornings!!

Other than that, I'd say keep communicating to your partner. Keep having fun and dating and being silly together. It can become very all consuming and when the journey doesn't necessarily go to plan there can be bumps in the road, but if your partner can remain your safe place and chief partner in crime then you can get through anything. 😊

Best of luck! X

Id advise getting your b12 - vit D and feretin checked

In spring my feretin was too low to conceive

Also more than doubled my vit D number over last 4 /5 months - fixed a deficiency

Those 3 are all important in conception and pregnancy

I am also planning to start TTC in 3 months! I've just started taking my preconception vitamin as Tommy's recommend it for at least 2 months before coming off contraception.
I have no advice sorry but am commenting to show solidarity and hopefully pick up some of the useful tips you'll be getting!
