11 dpo today.
Took a test with FMU and it come back immediately positive however me and my husband had sex late lastnight before bed. I did wash after and have urinated during the night. However I'm wondering can the presence of sperm in that area cause a false pos? I've took another test after these and it looks negative?

Nope! Only the presence of HCG can change the tests. Did you use different wee for the other two tests?

Feliciacat · 08/10/2023 07:05

I could be wrong but I think those tests check for human growth hormone (HGH). So semen won’t have this in it. As for the tests getting lighter the more tests you took; that’ll be because the HGH is less concentrated after your first morning urine. Congratulations!

Those all look positive to me? If you tested with later morning wee the level of HCG will be reduced.

menopausalmare · 08/10/2023 07:08

Morning urine is best for HCG levels

eurochick · 08/10/2023 07:09

Semen can't affect it. Those tests are all positive.

I've taken multiple test again following the positive from this morning and they're all negative. I have no idea what's happening?

I would give it few more days and test again

HappyAsASandboy · 08/10/2023 14:48

Semen can't affect pregnancy tests. It is likely that FMU was strong enough to show on the tests but later in the day wasn't.

It tests for human chorionic gonadotropin, not growth hormone which is a completely different thing.

But no, semen will make no difference. Even if there was semen on your skin, it’s the urine that’s being tested and if the urine picks up a tiny bit of semen on the way out, there is nothing in it that would interfere with the test.

RoseRows · 08/10/2023 14:52

Semen won’t make a difference, they all look positive to me. Wait a couple of days and test again.

Scalessayeek · 08/10/2023 14:56

I’d say you’re early on in pregnancy and won’t get a positive for another day or two on those other tests, most people have stronger hcg in the morning which looks to be the case for yourself. I’d recommend a four hour hold, with no drinks if you want to do another test sooner.
