Help needed with saliva microscope – are they ever wrong?!

I have been using a saliva microscope for 1 and a half cycles now since I gave up bfing. Now I've only had one AF but I got four simultaneous days of ferning patterns just before it arrived which I put down to irregular first cycle and hormones settling down after bfing.

Since AF went I've started checking saliva daily and am on CD15. I am confused with my results because I have had two lots of ferning patterns already, CD's 6,7+8 and CD's 13,14+15! Is there a possibility that something is distorting the accuracy or am I ovulting twice in one cycle to make up for lost time?

I always wait for 2 hours after consuming foods before testing and I usually test first thing in the morning to avoid problems.

Some advice would be gratefully received!

oops! Hopefully I'm 'ovulating' rather than 'ovulting'

bin it.

they're notoriously rubbish.

A couple of years back there was a thread on here for people using them and they all gave up using them within a matter of months because they're so unreliable.

I'm really interested in this as I just started using one too after 16 months TTC. I've been going to an acupuncturist who recommended it to me. I have also been pretty confused about it. I had spots, then partial ferning then full ferning (this was at the same time as AF), then spots then partial ferning again. Since then there have been a couple of days where mainly ferns, but broken ferns!

Would love to hear if anyone else has had any luck.
