12 days late, BFN, cramps, pain etc - anyone tested positive late?

Hi all,

Sorry if this is a repeat for some because I've posted in another thread already. I'm now 12 days late for AF and been have stomach cramps and back ache for about 2 weeks now. It started a few days before I was due so assumed it was AF but nothing. Went to urgent care because the pain was getting really bad but they couldn't refer me for scan or further test without a positive pregnancy test. Went to the Drs on Friday too and they asked me to wait another week or go to A&E if it can't be managed with painkillers. Has anyone tested positive this late?

I was getting heart palpitations, dizziness, feeling mega tired and a lot of EW mucas too (which is now calming down). Appetite is insane right now. If it wasn't for the BFN I would have thought I was pregnant (checked again yesterday and still BFN).

I'm fairly sure I ovulated when I was due to, I had all the symptoms, has anyone experienced anything similar or have any ideas what it could be? If I hadn't ovulated surely I wouldn't get all the cramping and pain? I'm just worrying what's going on now really rather than desperately hoping there's something there. Thanks for any shared experience info or advice

It is technically possible, but unlikely.

If you have a base hcg of 0.1, implanted later (day 10, 11 or 12) and hcg is taking over 48 hours to double (up to 72 hours can be considered normal), you could be pregnant without a bfp yet.

However, it really is more likely that the ewcm you've been seeing was ovulation. You likely geared up to ovulate the first time but didn't so your body tried again, making your AF late.

The symptoms could be anything, from a bug to a series of unrelated coincidence.

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess you sound like you know what you’re talking about, but I’m sure I’ve seen things saying only 80% of pregnant women get a positive test dpo?

@DawnWW sorry you’re in pain as well as the frustration of not knowing. I’m also 12dpo with symptoms that it’s hard to believe are psychosomatic (my first outbreak of spots for several years and very sore gums!) and testing stark white negative. I hope you get an answer and some relief from the cramps soon..

@BatildaB op isn't 12dpo, she's 12 days late for AF, so more like 24-26dpo depending on cycle length.

A lot more than 80% of women get a bfp at 12 days late.

Hello! No advice from me I’m sorry however I’m also quite a few days late for AF and no signs as of yet. No idea when I ovulated, as kept it relaxed this month.

Ive only done one test which was BFN - I’m not a religious tester so I’ll ride out another few days and likely AF will be here but it is strange! My situation is more likely stress if it is just delayed and no sign of any BFP.

Will keep an eye out for updates and post mine once I have any news…

I don't think it's ovulation at the moment because the pain and cramps etc have been since a few days before AF was due (so 16 days now). My husband is trying to get me to go for a private scan at window to the womb or similar just to see what's going on but feels like it will be too stressful being a pregnancy place. If it doesn't get better soon I probably will have to go to a private scan place just for a resolution, I can't keep going on like this it's impacting my life with the pain

I'm kind of in the same position...

My last period was July, August comes round and no period, I wait between 10-14 days after being late to test and got a blank white negative. Clear as anything. So I thought okay maybe it's just an off month. But Septembers never came either so that's two months I've missed now.

But the past few weeks I have been EXTREMELY tired, like I get gome from work and I could barely stay awake... I've been so emotional crying at a lot of stuff, loads of twinges in the groin area, mood swings like I don't know what and today omg my stomach genuinely looks like a pregnancy stomach. If its bloating I have never ever been this bloated in my life.. even my good friend commented on it.

So wondering if anyone has ever tested when late and got a negative but has turned out to be pregnant. ⭐️

Hi op, I would defo get a private scan done if you feel you might be pregnant. However r ur periods this late?

Never late, usually know when it's happening to the day. Think I'll try Dr again after their suggested one extra week wait (Friday). I'll be 2 weeks late tomorrow, never had this before in my life. I tried another test and did an early detection one so I can't see how I could be pregnant but don't understand the pain and lack of AF.

Sorry you've had this too, have you tried the Dr to see if they can help at all? 2 months without you'd think they would check if somethings going on

It's like the muscle jump that I felt in my previous pregnancies, but all the baby checks I've done so far have been negative. Anyone similar to me, please tell me what was the problem?
