Hi, I wanted to know if vitamin b6 helps you with conception and if anyone has taken it and has gotten pregnant with it.

Hey! I started taking b6 as I have a short luteal phase, sometimes I start spotting as early as 8dpo. I heard that b6 helps with progesterone which should help stop the spotting and extend my luteal phase. So hopefully the embryo would have time to implant before AF starts.

I gave it a try and I fell pregnant the first month using it so I’m convinced it helped me to conceive. Sadly ended in a MMC at 9 weeks. I’m trying again now and using the b6 this cycle, I’m in my two week wait so fingers crossed it helps again 🤞

Just to caveat this message, if you don’t have a short luteal phase I don’t know what affect the b6 will have on your cycle.

@Haylsttc, I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage hope you get your BFP soon. My luteal phase is ok to be honest. I am not sure what I should do. If I should take the vitamin b6 or not. Do you take them when you finish your periods or after ovulation.

If there is anyone whose luteal phase is fine and has taken b6, can you please share if it helped with you conceiving

I took b6 along with a few other vitamins I'd heard might help conceiving and it was awful - I ended up more tired than I've ever been and no amount of sleep could help until I stopped the vitamins. I can't remember everything I tried but just a word of warning that going down that route can mess up your equilibrium!

Can I recommend Vitamin D? Growing evidence that it reduces risk of miscarriage, and it's getting dark now. 🙂

As for vitamin b - it's meant to help with morning sickness but didn't for me...

@RunningOnHope, thank you it sounds like you didn't have a good experience with the vit b6. I did read about it, and the side effects you get with it. To be honest, after reading about it, I was a bit hesitant.

@kamboozled I do take the vitamin D but thought about extra vitamins that I can take came across someone saying about the vitamin b6, so I thought if there were any successful stories of anyone that had taken it.
Morning sickness is the worst. What worked for me was my doctor prescribed me some sickness tablets, and they worked fantastic.i can't remember the name now it's been a while now.

Update?

I took B6 and vitamin C when trying for our second as had a short luteal phase. Not sure whether it was that or luck but i got pregnant the next cycle and I’m sitting here with my three month old :) I don’t notice any different to how I felt so thankfully no side effects from taking them

My luteal phase is good and theres B6 in with magnesium. It's done nothing to my cycle length so I assume it's fine
