First time using Premom, tests not accurate?

Good morning!

DP and I are ttc, this is our first cycle and it's my first time using easy@home tests & im logging these on the Premom app. They've been marked as low, im assuming this is because it's my first time using it? The T lines are quite dark yesterday though.

Would I be correct in thinking, looking at my tests, that maybe I ov'd in the middle of the night last night and missed the peak test or something?

We've been BD every day during my fertile window so I'm not worried that we may have missed it, but the whole testing thing is confusing.

I've added pictures of my chart and tests.

Thank you 🙂

Morning :)

This was my first cycle ttc following a MMC in august (unplanned pregnancy) and I used the easy@home strips and pre-mom app for the first time. I think anything over 1.0 is classed as peak. They don’t recommend testing with the first morning urine/early morning so I’d try it a few times today to see if it increases. Do you track bbt?

Good luck xx

SPsmama · 30/09/2023 12:10

Do you let the app automatically read it or do you edit it manually? I find I get better readings changing the colours manually. I get lows for a few days that creep up but still low, then suddenly I get a high and a peak

CatiaR · 30/09/2023 17:06

You could have peaked on cd11 if you tested again after 4pm you did your second one. Not recommended to test in the morning. As a pp said its over 1.0 that would consider peak unless it has seen that you don’t get to that over a few cycles.

we won’t be able to confirm if you did ovulate on cd11 so I’d keep testing in case you didn’t yet. Otherwise next time when its in your fertile week test twice a day or more between 10am-8pm.

If you did bbt it would also help confirm if you did ovulate as well.

fingers crossed for you 🤞

Here are my charts for this cycle if you’d like a comparison. I’ve only done opks and bbt for 2 cycles so far but the app picks up quickly on your trends.

So sorry to hear about your mmc 😔 how are you feeling? Have my fingers crossed for us both for this cycle!

I’ve heard about the 1.0 thing and for some reason I think mine just isn’t going over that. I’ve got very distinctive ov pains today, which I get every cycle, so I’m pretty certain I’m either ovulating today or will be tomorrow.

yeah I track bbt but it’s only my third day doing it and I can see it’s steadily rising which I guess is a good sign. Do you track bbt?

I thought the same, that I may have peaked on CD 11 in between those tests. Unfortunately I can’t test in the middle of the day, and I leave for work just before 7am. Thinking about it now, I’ve never got a darker T line on the LH strip tests but know I’ve ovulated as I get static smileys when I did clear blue digital and I sadly had a chemical last cycle.

I do bbt tracking but it’s only my third day doing it so not much data to go by as of yet. We’ve been BD every day throughout my fertile window.

thank you 😊 fingers crossed for you too!

hope you don’t mind me asking, how long have you been TTC for?

@Stardust127 ah I see I take these to work with me sometimes but if you were able to do later on the day seems to be more useful than morning as the LH levels rise throughout the day.

its our third cycle of ttc #1 😊

it does seem like you covered your bases so should be fine 😊

riverlodge90 · 30/09/2023 19:55

I use the app but I test 3 times a day when getting close to peak, first wee, 5pm and 10pm. My peak only lasts 8-10 hours so if I was only testing once a day I would miss it.
Seems that's what happened to yours this month. Try and do more ☺️

CatiaR · 30/09/2023 21:10

@riverlodge90 mines the same. Low and then suddenly peaks. If I tested only once a day I would likely miss it too

Bali200 · 01/10/2023 11:16

Thank you @Stardust127, I’m feeling a lot better the past couple of weeks and I’m just trying to focus on ttc and getting my body back to normal now 😌

I had a very strange reaction to ovulation this week which dr google tells me is a hormone imbalance so I think my body is still recovering, and my bbt wasn’t normal around ovulation either so I’ve already counted myself out for this cycle, but hopefully it’s your cycle, it seems like you’re in tune with your body and you’ve covered all your bases so got my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

My ‘peak’ was only just over 1.0 and I had that for two days running so I don’t think mine is particularly normal 😂 I probably should have tested at 10pm on cd14 as I reckon it would have gone higher and been my true peak, but I’ll attach my pic for you so you can see and also my last three cycles of bbt. Top one was where I conceived 🥰

It’ll take a while of temping for you to understand your cycle, I personally do not understand the pre-mom charts that include bbt 😵‍💫 I have used natural cycles since end of Jan to track bbt which I much prefer xx

This is so helpful to see your charts, thank you so much for sharing 🙂

I'm so impatient when it comes to things like this, like I just want to understand everything right now, but I know it needs more data.

When I got the app, I put in my last 9 or so cycle data as I thought it would somehow help the app to understand my cycle pattern. However I'm now starting to think that this, along with my chemical last month, have interfered with it all.

interesting that your peak was only just over 1.0. I think maybe some women just don't have high/standard levels of LH when ovulating xx

What's also difficult is that I get pregnancy symptoms so quickly, severe bloating and sickness from about 10dpo. They are very distinctive, I got exactly the same when I had another chemical this time last year. So even without testing I'm sort of aware of what's going on, which makes it even more emotionally tough.

I'll be finding out whether or not I'm pregnant this cycle, at more or less exactly the same time last year when I found out I was losing a pregnancy and it's making me quite anxious.

Hi! Yes an update - I found out I was pregnant on 3rd November last year and now have a beautiful healthy 3 month old baby boy! What I did find useful is adding the test manually (when you click test, click manual instead of auto) and adjust the level yourself because I found that they were so off for some reason. When I did that I started getting accurate readings . Best of luck! Xx

Any update?

Also, after I posted this I actually stopped tracking my bbt and putting myself under so much pressure, waking up at 6am even on weekends to track bbt for example. That cycle was the one I got pregnant. It massively helped to stop stressing so much and actually enjoying the journey of TTC. Just thought to share that :)
