Will progesterone help?

Hi!

I've just experienced my third early miscarriage this year... one at 6 weeks, one at 8 weeks and another at 6 weeks.
I do also have a daughter who is 2.

My periods are naturally really light (sometimes 3 days) so I'm wondering if the lining of my uterus isn't thick enough to implant? Anyone know/ have experience of using progesterone and having it prescribed?

I fell pregnant with my daughter a week after having my copper coil out in 2020 - with the coil I had really heavy periods so I think that's why she stuck - my lining must have been nice and thick. 🤣❤️

Any advice etc would be really helpful! 😊

Hello,

I am in exactly the same situation! Well close. Iv a 3 year old daughter. This year I have had two losses. One MMC and one at 6 weeks. Iv managed to get prescribed cyclogest and asprin.

my last MC was 2/3 months ago, this is my first month trying properly and I’m 7dpo.

praying it works ❤️

Thank you for your reply and sorry for your losses 😢 such a shit thing to go through - thank god for toddlers keeping us busy!

Oh that's good that you've got it prescribed - hope it works for you. From what I've read it has a good chance at working, especially with previous losses. Let me know how you get on 🤞🏼

oh it’s been a rough year, but yes, having a toddler certainly makes it bearable.

I will do. I got the EPU at my second miscarriage to write to my GP to prescribe. They said no at first but I put pressure on and they did.

have you been referred to RMC? Are you trying again atm? X

Hi all,
I just wanted to pop on and say that I have a 5 year old girl,I had 2 losses in 6 months, one at 6 weeks and a MMC at 12 weeks.
I fell pregnant again shortly after my MMC and I was prescribed progesterone suppositories to take until 16 weeks, I'm currently 18 weeks and all seems ok so far!
I did have low progesterone so I'm 99% sure that's what made the difference!
Wishing you lots of luck x

Annoyingly, after my second miscarriage they basically said they couldn't do anything until it'd been more than 3... got pregnant again and started bleeding yesterday (6 weeks).

Spoke to my GP today and he said when I get a full negative test to make an appointment and he should be able to either prescribe or get me an appointment with the EPU and they should be able to prescribe progesterone.

Have they given you any tests etc for recurrent miscarriages? (Not sure if that's even a thing?) or did they prescribe progesterone as the first thing to try?

Thanks for your reply. Sorry for your losses - but great that the progesterone has worked for you! Hoping that's what I'll need too. 🤞🏼

Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well 😊

So sorry to hear about your losses 💐

My periods were like yours, light and 3 days ish. I had two miscarriages and a chemical and started tests from the nhs. Nothing was found but they suggested progesterone when I next caught,

I then went on to have two healthy babies so I would recommend to anyone. The best to luck to you, hope you get your rainbow baby soon.

just tests for blood sugar and thyroid ect. All normal. Then the gynea at epu prescribed the progesterone and some asprin. I will let you know if I test positive and start taking it. X

Just thought I’d keep you updated. Iv got my first ‘faint’ BFP this am. Iv started my progesterone. It’s fine no far and no side effects.

Still pregnant…

14dpo and lines are progressing. Stayed away from clear blue weeks indicator for the moment as they have predicted miscarriage in the past. How are you?

My lines are progressing nicely though! X

Hope everything is still going well with your pregnancy!

I've got a GP appointment - not until November though 😣 which is a bit frustrating!
