This happened last night and I don’t think I have had chance to process it. Have taken MAP but it’s been about 17 hours later. I am 8 months pp and last month had my period return. It was a very small period, it was all old, brown blood and very light for 3/4 days and I’d say I hardly needed a pad on at all. If it were to return as normal I would be due on this Sunday.

Only thing is today after being on the toilet I’ve wiped and had a load of ewcm which I know means ovulation and I remember with my first son my period was all over the place once it returned. I’m now worried I’ve ovulated late and in return wouldn’t actually be starting my period this weekend! 🥴

So come on, I need realistic stories from people this has happened to before? 🙈

Sorry to be a bit gross but are you sure it’s ewcm and not leftover semen? If you have any ovulation tests, you could use them to test and see if you get a positive or near positive line. But the point of the MAP is to delay ovulation; as ewcm precedes ovulation and you’ve only just noticed it, I’d say it’s unlikely you’ve already ovulated, so you should be ok.

@omgz Whenever I have ewcm it comes out a peachy colour so I’m certain it’s what it was! But fingers crossed! We do want a third no doubt about it, but wanted to wait 2-3 years ideally! It took 10 months each time to conceive my other two children so I don’t exactly fall pregnant easily, maybe I have that in my favour too! 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

I've been in a similar situation condom split, took MAP within 12 hours. DD is now 7 😅

I believe if you get a coil fitted ASAP it can prevent pregnancy, but I'm not 100% sure... you'd need to contact a family planning clinic pronto to find out if it's an option for you!

@fer18 Oh gosh! 😂 It actually happened to my cousin too, years of using condoms, one split and that’s all it took.

It wouldn’t be the end of the world but not an ideal time 8 months after giving birth.

I guess I will have to keep this post updated 😂

Something similar happened for me this month, except a week before and definitely in my fertile window.. but I can’t say what the outcome is yet!

Just a little update to this.. I haven’t come on my period yet but had a positive OPK (had some left from ttc last year) on Saturday morning, a lot of ovulation type pains over the weekend and now sore nipples which always indicates to me I’ve ovulated in the last 24-48 hours.

So it’s just a waiting game now I suppose, if I don’t get my period over the next 7-10 days I’d probably take a test!
